Finally Home (Live Mix)

Are all parties starting to sound the same to you? Struggling to differentiate one kick drum from the next? Too many of the same quirky vocals over the same offbeat bass just getting all TOO MUCH?!?!? Then i suggest you do not push play.

I managed to record my closing DJ set at this years Ozora Festival... I played on Sunday evening at 7pm at sunset going into the night... Thank you SO much to everyone who was there and danced and smiled and shared these hours with me, it was a huge honour to play the closing set at my favourite festival in the universe!! Celli Earthling - OZORA FESTIVAL CLOSING DJ Set 2014

This is the first LIVE show i have ever put up soundcloud!! I chose the Psy Fi LIVE set as it was a fantastic festival with very special vibe and amazing crowd, for me the last blast of an awesome European summer season! A lot of people asked me about various tracks after my Saturday night set so i decided it was about time to get a LIVE show up!!

Broken Toy is James Copeland from Cape Town, South Africa.

His unique take on producing fullon psytrance with a twisted and quirky edge has earned him his position as one of the most low, down and dirty dancefloor manipulators in the scene today. Combining a forward thinking attitude with respect to the oldschool, you can expect a hard-hitting yet groovy dancefloor experience mixing elements of funk, indie-electro, and rocking psytrance.

ITs hard to imagine, but 2013 already marks 10 years of Broken Toy! Having started his career back in 2001 as a member of the project “Damage”, he was one of the pioneers of the South African psytrance scene alongside such artists as Rinkadink, Protoculture, and Shift. Soon after, he started the Broken Toy solo project and joined Uk based Alchemy records back in 2003.

Since then he has released over 70 tracks on various labels such as Nano, Spun, Timecode, Solar tech, etc and 2 full length albums on Alchemy records - his self-titled debut album and 2007`s “The low, down, dirty sound of…”

He has toured to over 20 countries and has played at major festivals all over the world such as Boom festival in Portugal, Glade festival in the UK, Full Moon festival in Germany, SOnica in Italy, Universo Parallelo in Brazil as well as all the major parties in South Africa such as Origin, Rezonance, Vortex, H20, Alien Safari, etc.

2010 saw him branching out in 2 new directions - going back to his roots as a metal guitarist and bass player with his tongue-in-cheek psy-rock project “Super evil” and also with an electro breaks project called “Nesono”. More recently in 2013, he`s taken things down a notch and made some Swing/gypsy-jazz flavoured tech house in his new self titled project, James Copeland and also Progressive techno project Sad Paradise.

With so many creative outlets, an uncluttered and refined vision of Broken Toy has emerged in 2013, set to ignite dancefloors across the world once more.

Enjoy the live recording of Boom Shankar & Alexsoph @ Hadra Trance Festival (France / 2012)
We played in the morning after Cosmosis, the weather was windy, dusty and cold...but during our set the conditions changed and it became nicer and nicer....thus reflected in the music.
Unfortunately the first 40 minutes of our set were not recorded thanx to our shitty recording device, but at least we managed to get the recording started at the "perfect" moment...the ceremony was about to begin...hear for yourself! :)

Throughout the mix there are a few glitches which are once again a result of our recording device...however, I think you wil probaly hardly notice any of them. In case you do, please excuse! :)

Enjoy this mix, its the first Back2Back session we "release" and probably not the last. We attached a track video as well which was recorded during our last track....in case you were there, this should bring some nice memories back!

'Symbolic' established by Ilan Shemi & Osh Ben Simon aka DJ Osho during the middle of the year 2011. Symbolic music style can be best described as, Psychedelic Progressive Trance, heavy fat bass lines, with mechanic rhythms and crunchy grooves, with main focus strictly for the dance floor. Since their first production together, they got incredible feedbacks from the dance floors all around the world and immediately the labels show their interest in working together with them.
