Aww man i'm loving the mood of this, foggy winters night, the streets are empty apart from the dim light form the street lights. That's waht i get from it anyhoo. Excellent.

The crackles give this a real sinsiter feel for me especially against the dark, moody soundscape. Great journey so far. PT 8)

In 1982 my father remarried, and my mother died 5 years later. Although we spoke intermittently, the decades that passed did not resolve the estrangement that had developed between my father and me. It became dramatically clear just how unlikely any reconciliation would be, even as my dad nudged his way into his nineties, when I attended my half-sister's wedding (she's twenty years younger than me) and nobody knew who I was - people said to my father "We didn't know you had a son!" 


I don't know more than a few words of German, but when I heard this clip from a 1930 Walter Ruttmann film ("Weekend"), I heard, or perhaps projected, a vignette portraying an affectionate tie between a young boy and his father that poignantly reminded me of a time when my own father and I were still close.
