* It's been a while, huh?
* Since the end of that ol' tale.

* I've lived through all of it, y'know?
* Lived through the war that started it all, lived through the deaths that sent us into despair...
* And, most recently, the arrival of a special lil' kid that changed the underground.

* Most were oblivious to their nature at first. They just looked like another monster.
* But everyone soon realized how special they were.
* Turns out, the lil' guy was actually some sort of human-monster fusion!
* At least, that's what Asgore said after taking back his throne.
* Always felt like somethin' wasn't quite right with them.

* Yes, nobody knows why or how, but overnight... the queen had dissapeared.
* The whole underground was searchin' for 'er like crazy, but...
* It was no use. She was seemingly gone.
* ...along with the six human SOULs.

* The once-former king of the underground took control after Toriel's death.
* Crazy to think I knew both of 'em so well.
* He's been quite good at the whole reigning thing, y'know?
* First thing he did after taking the throne was establishing a new policy towards humans.
* He said that any human who might fall down...
* Shall not be treated as enemy, but as an equal. As a friend.
* That makes me feel hopeful. And it sure made everyone else hopeful, too.
* Everythin' feels like it's going better. Slowly, but surely!

* That kid...
* They remind me of two certain someones.
* Everyone knew them as the royal children. 
* The human, and the prince; their monster brother.
* The prince and the new kid looked strangely alike.
* As for the prince's human sibling...
* Well, there had to be a human in there behind that fluffy facade too, right?
* Wonder where that kid might've went.
* It's a shame they had to go so soon. Would've loved to talk to them a bit more.

* That human... they must be living their own life now.
* If only they knew how much they did for us.
* Without them, nobody would've turned the page on the underground's old book.
* They wrote a new page, and helped us keep writing our own future.
* There's no erasin' what they did for us. It's written down on ink.

* Wah hah! Hope I didn't bore ya' to death, eh, antlered one?
* But I'd say a good storytime is quite nice once in a while, ain't it?
* Where are ya' off to now?
* Well, that's somethin' only you're gonna know.

Happy holidays, everyone!! Welcome back to this year's YULE TOAD!!

Yule Toad is a 12 Days of Christmas-based event that features twelve consecutive days of uploads!! Yule Toad features songs suggested (or based on suggestions) by you, the viewers, as well as a couple songs pitched by Wabble and myself, the artists for this year's run of Yule Toad!

Today's song was my own input, a non-canon, for-fun hypothetical battle theme for Lesley, the climbing tour guide of Mt. Atjen Climbing. This may technically break the rule about no mainstay projects, but considering this is 100% non-canon--and since this specifically has shown up on past Music Poll forms--I figured this one was fair game. (Besides, I make the rules here.)

This hypothetical would pick up where the Merciless Route of The Old Switcheroo ends. Whether or not there IS a way to make it back to the surface, without anyone's soul ripe for the taking to cross over, Kris certainly had to struggle to push through on their own.

Lesley, much like in other routes, has made it her top priority to keep an eye on Mt. Atjen should Kris one day return. Unfortunately for her, they made it out. As if forcing them to kill everyone wasn't bad enough, abandoning them at the end, leaving them to find their own way out, has left them even more unstable, so much so that they can't even recognize the person they lunge at.

Under the cover of the night, lit bright by the written pages.

And yet, as eons went on, if their hands were to slip...

Nature's heart, pounding with great fear

3 heroes, to quell the end drawing near.

The Blade, The Bat, and the Crown united

Will strike down the LORD'S HAMMER, shattered with history righted.

And the earth would return to a peaceful life.

Now, in a world of today, the Monolith of Shadow piercing the night

Stood tall, keeping harmony between both sides of our world...
