Solid Grooves drop their latest Summer Sampler to close August as Michael Bibi and PAWSA invite a selection of the scene’s finest to deliver the label’s 2021 instalment.

An annual fixture in the calendar for many, Solid Grooves’ summer Various Artist offering welcomes a project showcasing a UK label at the forefront of the scene. Having recently returned as a family across sold out shows in London and Bristol, late August welcomes this year’s highly-anticipated drop from a wealth of SG favourites and close friends.

Offering up a combination of up-front and more minimal-leaning productions, co-founders Michael Bibi and PAWSA step out alongside residents Bassel Darwish, Blackchild (ITA), Eddy M, Ramin Rezaie and Reelow, plus 2021 guests Carloh, Detlef and Wheats, to deliver a ten track package you won’t want to sleep on.

Originally released in November 2021, Guy Gerber and Albertina’s ‘Bocat’ saw support on BBC Radio 1 from Pete Tong and Danny Howard, with the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Sama’ Abdulhadi, Ame and many more spinning the record in clubs all over.

Now recruiting Michael Bibi for a hard-hitting club remix, the Solid Grooves founder track delivers a new lease of life to the original. Bringing his signature production style to Rumors, Bibi adds twisted vocal chops amongst spacious percussion, deep acid lines, and pounding kicks.

Founded in 2014, Guy Gerber’s Rumors has played host to Dixon, Seth Troxler, P Diddy, and beyond, amassing a vast fanbase since the early clandestine beach parties on the White Island.

A joint DFTD debut from two instantly recognisable names, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and Redlight come together on 'Regulate', a headsy cut combining their club expertise and production capabilities. With a chugging bassline, ascending synth lines and steady percussion, an ethereal vocal adds a hypnotic quality to the record that is sure to stay with you beyond the dancefloor. With British producer Redlight entrenched in in underground music for over two decades, and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs working with some of the biggest names in electronic music, 'Regulate' is the equilibrium of these two esteemed producer's styles.

Leeds-based producer Aaron Snapes first popped into the underground after his first release in 2012 appeared on Claude VonStroke’s Essential Mix and garnered further support from Annie Mac. Since then, he’s split his allegiances between Dirtybird, Hannover’s This Ain’t Bristol, and Los Angeles label Perfect Driver, all while pushing a sound that has this weird effect of having you shaking your ass and crack up laughing at the same time.

After a busy eighteen months promoting his debut album, Essex-hailer Max Chapman brings us his La Fiesta EP on Hot Creations. The title track features alongside remixes by the versatile Luca Cazal and house veteran Todd Terry.

With Latin vibes from the outset, Max has encompassed the essence of The White Isle. La Fiesta is a  migration of percussion, chanting and melodic vocals and flirtatious basslines. Luca Cazal has turned up the kick and brings an old school vibe with his remix. Todd Terry’s energetic arrangement of snares and bongos compliments the provencal vocal perfectly.

Since his arrival on the scene six years ago, Max Chapman has released on an abundance of labels including VIVa, Toolroom and last years Body Jack on Elrow, that achieved number one status across all genres on Beatport. Established in 2012, his imprint Resonance Records provides a platform for the freshest talent in underground tech-house. Max’s album Catch Me If You Can, released last year, received a notable 9/10 in both Mixmag and DJ Mag.

Luca Cazal has been steadily rising up the ranks since his debut release on Crosstown Rebels in 2013. Constantly refining his production skills, Luca transmits positive emotions with every track he releases. After three decades on the scene, Grammy-nominated Legend Todd Terry has continued to release  superior productions and entertain crowds worldwide.

There’s always a risk when tampering with a much loved classic record, it can be ruined or taken to a whole new level. With this update Amine Edge & Dance do the original justice and then some. The duo retains a lot of the elements of the original track that made it so special but in true Amine Edge & DANCE style, Lovelee Dae now comes with added punch, guaranteed to go off on the dance floor.
