Ansata - Afloat

Ansata is a reggae roots band hailing from the island of Puerto Rico. Formed back in 2002, Ansata quickly established themselves in the local reggae scene with their mixture of hard hitting rhythms and conscious lyricism. They performed regularly on venues all over the island, including what was then considered the biggest reggae stage in PR (El Anfiteatro). The band was featured on the local news as well as other TV shows of the time and got positive press on the island's newspapers. Despite having a repertoire of over a dozen original songs, the band only managed to record one song together (Afloat) which received solid radio play and a warm welcome from fans. In spite of the band's relative success, all of its members went their separate ways after only 3 years of playing together. Now, after a decade long hiatus, all of Ansata's original members are back together with a common goal, to share their music with the world.
