An international collaboration between two producers, which was born despite 9212 km distance between Vilnius and Khabarovsk. 5ZYL is already known through his presence on Jensen Interceptor’s “International Chrome”, debut EP “Smoke These” and fresh “Main Goal” EP on PZ Records. Shit Control (Rodion Kirsanov) is an emerging producer from Khabarovsk city located at Amur river next to the most eastern border of China. Synthesizers lover and co-founder of the local underground music movement Tom Tom was already recognized by label CYBERJIT. The shape of “Krug” EP was started in Shit Control’s studio, topped up by 5ZYL in Vilnius, spiced up with False Persona remix in Bournemouth (UK) and mastered by Assembler Code in Sydney (Australia). Perfect testimony, that music is an international language without boundaries.

We think that everyone has to be heard, and the modern Russian youth has a lot of things to say. We’re glad that despite unprecedented pressure, they decided to come together and speak out to support those whose lives are in danger.

With the support of @malcolmaudio, London based DJ and Global Warming Records founder, and curation of @yssue, previously Moscow-based producer and member of Russian collective Esthetic Joys; this release brings together 22 artists, bands, producers and graphic designers with a broad genre palette and from all over the country.

100% of the sales will be sent directly to War Child’s emergency aid in Ukraine. War Child’s actions are: Supporting refugees in accommodation centers; Providing life-saving emergency psychosocial support and vital protection to vulnerable refugee children; Working with anti-trafficking organizations to prevent refugees from falling into the hands of traffickers; Ensure safeguarding of highly vulnerable children such as those with disabilities; and much more.

Danil Inyushkin AKA Werfol always wants to explore new music, offering his listeners fresh emotions and atmosphere. This producer from Kaliningrad goes deep into different genres, recreating sounds and re-thinking instruments' original purposes. This is how Werfol extracts sounds that keep him interested, and then builds solid tracks out of them.

Werfol's journey into club music has been rather long, as he had a passion for various guitar genres, phonk, witch house and abstract hip hop. Inyushkin went from producing lo-fi bass line house to much faster music, inventive and unexpected. Darker electronic sound appeals to Wefol way more than some kind and naive music, as it feels more real. Ambient jazz, uptempo hardcore and other genres spark through Werfol's tracks, which is appreciated by many musicians, producers and labels that include his music in their sets and playlists. Among those, are PTU,  Rinse France, трип, collective, Kruzhok and others who release Werfol’s music.

This EP for Get Busy produced in 2021 has a "slightly broken construction." Complexity and simplicity are perennially important topics for the producer, who combines complex moves with straight-up danceable ones. Pulsating overdriven kick drum, sudden breakbeats and ricocheting percussion; news reports, alien voices and delirious synths. There is so much in these five tracks—and all of it is true.

This is the first release in a series of charity compilations dedicated to the indomitable spirit of Ukrainians. Currently, our families are facing challenges such as living in a total blackout, with no electricity, water, and internet for 40-60 hours or more, in cold buildings, wearing every piece of clothing we have to keep ourselves warm. These are some of the hardest times we have experienced during this war, but we will stand to the end. This release is also dedicated to all the people around the world who have helped us and to those who still continue to support us during these difficult times. That's where the name of the series ("VOLUNTEERS") and release ("BLACKOUT") came from. Anyone who has supported Ukraine in any way is a volunteer. In the context of this compilation, every musician, mastering engineer, artwork designer, and person who buys the release or a track from it is also a volunteer.

The idea for this VA (various artists) compilation was born at the start of the war, when I realized that my efforts should be solely focused on helping my fellow Ukrainians. My friend and I even started a bulletproof vest manufacturing company on the second week of the full-scale invasion, when all import and supply chains were completely disrupted. Our territorial defense forces were lacking equipment and were forced to fight back the aggressor almost in tracksuits. In my free time, I was searching for and contacting artists, trying to find a way to distract myself from the reality of the situation.

After the supplement of equipment was restored and we stopped the production, I focused to what I do best: organizing different types and sizes of events. I continued to collect and listen to these tunes while hosting charity festivals and parties. Every party was aimed to raising funds for items such as pickups, sights, and thermal vision equipment. That's why this release is imbued with the spirit of volunteering from start to finish.

In addition to our charity mission, this compilation aims to draw more attention to the electronic music scene in my country, which I believe is very powerful but underestimated. I want to help young talents grow and give experienced artists the recognition they deserve. That's why you'll find almost unknown producers alongside big names (to whom I want to send a special thank you) on this release.

The war has sparked a new wave of creativity in Ukraine. While working on this compilation, I've encountered many talented artists, some of whom will be featured at the upcoming festival "Art is a Weapon!" that my team and I are organizing in Berlin on February 25th. The festival will showcase the diversity of modern Ukrainian culture through theater, exhibitions, cinema, a tattoo corner, and audio-visual performances.
