‘Dancing People Volume 5’ drops in July of this year, and as you would expect, here is  another release that digs deep into archives. London based artist XOA continues the edits series with 2 dance floor focussed belters in the form of ‘Sekele’ on the A-Side and ‘Nimele’ on the B- Side. The label has also teamed up with the legends over at Handy Supply Co to create a limited run of T-Shirts and socks in blue/pink pastel colours to compliment the physical release. ‘Nieme’ is high energy rework of the classic Afro-Disco track ‘Nieme Bolo’ by Charly Kingson from back in 1978. The original vocal takes a backseat in this edit, with XOA carefully sampling the vocal to emphasise selected elements that form new hooks instantly grab the listeners attention and holding it throughout . The unmistakable, emphatic brass stabs from the original are a key element in this edit, as is that classic 70’s funky bassline that could only have been born out of one of the analog Synthesizers of the era. This edit takes the original from the archives and puts it back on the dancefloor where it well and truly belongs!

The Lagaffe boys have a special one for you. Lagaffe 10 marks the 10th EP in our vinyl series and serves as a perfect way to end our 10th year in existence. To mark this occasion we are releasing a 4 tracker with our founders and label regulars. 

The EP opens up with Cohen Social Club by Flexi Leifs aka Felix Leifur. Our man Felix lost his drum machines last spring but luckily he found a guitar and some drums. The track starts off with suspicious sounding guitar notes that somehow up as pure beauty, giving hope in the darkest of places. Frodo with the ring stuff, if you know what I mean. Playful reverbs and echos give the tune the classic Felix Leifur feel to it! 

Moff & Tarkin has the next track "Pure Fury", some breakbeats and cheesy disco vocals, why change a winning recipe? 

Next up is "We are not alone " by label boss Jonbjörn. I think this is what Elton John meant when he said "thank god for those electro bangers!" Solid 909 drum work featuring dramatic chords and some original vocal work. If you can spot the sample write us on Soundcloud and you might win a year's worth of LaCafe Tales! 

With "Að handan" Viktor Birgiss comes back to the label in style. Our mastering engineer described it as having the loudest kickdrum in history, imagine that! Lo fi dub sounding drums interlaced with atmospheric chords, made for those late night intimate moments on the dancefloor, again Frodo with the ring stuff, if you know what I mean.

Freddye says his inspiration behind his EP simply came about on the thought that while society moves through the days. Everything runs faster and faster. Some elegant men look at this giant picture that we call life with a bitter sense of humor.
Have a good joke, good smoke, and drink some gin and tonic with an irreplaceable slice of lemon in it, just to get ready for the best hours of the week: reaching the sound system.

All bandcamp sales received from this EP will grow a tree and contribute to Fly Tree Records reforestation efforts in partnership with One Tree Planted.

The release "HD Whispers" by Kitobwoy is a peculiar blend of minimal and microhouse with a noticeable influence of ambient and IDM. The entire release adheres to the finest traditions of the genre and minimalist sound. Accentuated by groovy basslines and a pulsating beat, it is seasoned with atmospheric percussion and effects. The release includes original tracks "Blast" and "HD Whispers," as well as remixes by Alexander Lozovoy and Toshie.

For the second release of his own Steamy Pizza Box imprint, Italian producer Valerio Vaudano shows us his Italo-house side under the Steamy Pizza Box alias.
The “Vibey” EP is a 5-track release that takes you back to the early days of house music, perfectly blending both atmospheres from the past and elements of modern electronic music.
The A-side kicks off with “Are U Feelin’ It?”, a brilliant 90s flavoured track where groove and dream-house pads coexist flawlessly. From there it continues with ‘Amnesia’, a peaktime house tune in full UMM style. “Oshibori” opens the B-side with its dreamy but catchy atmospheres characterised by oniric pads and a romantic brass breakdown. “Vhs” continues the B-side with a cheerful old school riff, topped with a Lately bass and rolling drums. “Murder” closes the release with its minimal but significant dress: 909, a Juno bass line and a pad borrowed from the Chicago pioneers.

Danny Rowland was born in West London and was a life loving family man. A friend to many, and a DJ to dance to as Danny loved house!  Sadly, this much respected human left the earth three years ago after a long and brave fight with cancer. This album is put together with a lot of love by Lofty & Tommy D of Chillifunk (Flying Records) to celebrate Danny’s life and his productions, and to honour his memory with all proceeds going to nominated charities.  This is also in memory of the late Brett Taylor.
 
‘From Beavers to Bora Bora’ is a tribute to a love for music, the unforgettable memories created, and the clubland adventures that will be tales for generations to come. The music you'll discover on this LP has long since vanished from record shop shelves, as it was only ever available on vinyl and is now rare and hard to find.  It's a celebration of the 90s house sound, when house music reigned supreme and dancefloors from South London's Ministry of Sound to iconic clubs in New York, Chicago, Detroit, and Ibiza throbbed with that 90s dancefloor energy. Celebrating the life of a West London DJ, producer, husband and father  - the much missed Danny Rowland  - it features productions and collaborations with Danny J Lewis and Lol Graves, and Brett Taylor.
 
Danny & Brett's musical journey began on the Beavers Estate in Hounslow, with dreams of leaving Hounslow behind and embarking on an adventure that took them to Ibiza and to Bora Bora. After Danny's passing in 2020, a void was left in the lives of his family and friends and they had an idea - to create an album celebrating his love of life and music by compiling his productions with friends and collaborators. It's a positive and joyous tribute that can be enjoyed not only by his nearest and dearest but also by those who are open to discover the music created by Danny Rowland, Brett Taylor, Danny J Lewis, and Lol Graves.
