The Excel of the soul
At the top of the Executive Glass Tower, where suits are ironed with ambition and coffees are served with anxiety, reigned Don Ernesto Valdivia, CEO of the multinational SynerGroove Inc. His resume was a symphony of achievements: an MBA from Harvard, successful mergers, and absolute mastery of PowerPoint. But beneath the armor of KPIs and synergies, beat a heart that didn't want to lead... but to sing.
Every night, Ernesto locked himself in his soundproof office, not to review reports, but to rehearse with his Stratocaster guitar. His soul vibrated not with dividends, but with progressive rock solos. His dream: to be Ernie V, the rock star he never was.
The meeting that broke the rhythm
Everything changed the day, in the middle of the quarterly meeting, Ernesto presented the financial results... singing! With animated slides and a band of interns dressed as musicians, he sang “Return on Investment Blues” and “Synergy is Killing Me.” The managers were speechless. Some thought it was a disruptive strategy. Others called HR.
But something sparked. Employees, fed up with metrics and forced motivation, began to follow him. Every Friday, instead of reports, there were clandestine concerts in the break room. The movement was called Corporate Rebellion.
The Rise and Fall of Executive Rock
Ernesto recorded an album, “Balance General del Corazón,” with songs like “Despedido con Amor” and “Mi jefe es un algorítmico.” It went viral. SynerGroove's stock rose because of the fame, not the management. But investors didn't understand why the CEO was naked on the cover of Forbes.
The board ousted him. They replaced him with a predictive leadership software called LEADR-9000. Ernesto, far from going down the drain, founded a band with former employees: The Fired Ones. They played at startup festivals, where entrepreneurs wept to the tune of "Pitch Deck of My Soul."
The legacy of the boss who broke the norm
Today, Ernesto lives in an electric van, traveling through incubators and coworking spaces, singing uncomfortable truths with distortion. His story has become legendary: the boss who relinquished power to embrace noise. In every drab office, there's an intern who dreams of being a guitarist. And at every meeting, someone hums "ROI Is Not Love."
