Berlin-based, Franco-German producer and DJ Franz Matthews, alongside well-known happiness coach Jonathan Lehmann, have crafted a thumping, hypnotic EP that combines music and the practice of guided meditation as one.

We’ve collated remixes from a spread of some of the greatest minds in electronic music today, including Aera, The Organism and Milio, to create their unique interpretations of this pioneering project of mind and music.

Franz Matthews’s original brings a complex web of interlocking percussion rhythms that develop with unfolding synths throughout the guided meditation to reach a soul-shaking climax. Transporting us on a journey through the mind with a captivating piece of musical storytelling throughout.

Aera steps up with the first remix, carving out a spacious story that casts the spotlight onto the spoken word vocals from Lehman, combining elegant rhythms with contrasting layers of subtle harmonic movement and mind-altering synth melodies that engage the inner recesses of the brain.

The Organism takes things into a more aggressive, percussive direction, using his archetypal sound to traverse across the planes of your mind. Off-kilter synth tones collide across a punchy Moog style bassline and grooving disco-tinged drum machine grooves underneath.

Finally, Milio brings his distinctive club sounds to the blend. Mixing glitching rhythms with wandering melody lines that integrate elements of minimalism and techno into a joyous and playful reworking. Milio’s distinct ability to craft memorable lines that are equally unique and quirky closes this superb remix package off with finesse.

All aboard the ‘Ark’: Two by two, four by four, whatever… Whichever way you want to board, the doors of this great vessel are open and Monaberry bossmen Super Flu are the proud captains.

Their first full voyage of the year, ‘Ark’ is a stately piece of techno noir theatre designed to wrestle the choppiest of dancefloor seas. A multi-layered narrative laced with crispy arpeggios and strange otherworldly talkbox textures, it’s an oceanic titan that ploughs through the heaviest of elements with grace and majesty.

‘Doppt’ takes us to the next waymark on the map. Gently rhythmic from the moment its first shakers kiss your ears, we’re soon satiated with tightly plucked percussive elements, subtle humanised textures and a sense of momentum that’s tightly coiled with suspense and drama in a way that only Super Flu know how.

Finally our feet touch terra firma with the mysterious afro house maverick Hyenah as he provides an earthy remix stampede. Flexing between African rhythms, powerful 4/4s and a tantalising breakdown salvo, it’s yet another sterling revision from the masked beast… And another exceptional Monaberry trip from the one and only Super Flu. Emerging from arcadia in a time when reality needs it most, MoBlack Records' 377th release summons Fortaleza-based, house music veteran, Carlos Francisco to render a stunning ballad nurtured by grief and nourished with love. Nestled in an ambrosial concursion of multi-dimensional percussion, Iorona builds up into a stark chorus rippled by an elusive melody, mellowed by tender piano notes but ultimately bound by the humanity of skin-on-skin, grounded in the simple rhythm of the basic hand clap.
Francisco garners the poignant perspective of a fellow South American in side B.
