SyphoSONIC is the idea of letting the song write itself. Mostly instrumental, It’s a dance piece of sorts and what ended up in my opinion a modern pop symphony. Going through many genres, it takes you on quite a journey while keeping a dance groove and eventually arriving at a vocal hook, “LET ME LOVE YOU” ( a metaphor for playing music for people ). This was very fun to create. I feel it’s one of my better works. This type of writing allows you to listen back to what’s being said and add a complement or friend to the message then complete the movement in a more natural way. No time constraints, no genre restrictions, complete freedom to give life to whatever direction the song is heading. I hope you enjoy it.

New music for 2023. Dedicated to Heather Marie Smith. She keeps me holding on to life for the love we live.

 This was a fun dance track to create. The idea was simple themes and driving beats with a guitar motif throughout. I used my Stratocaster. Sang, played and programmed all sounds. Enjoy.

Holding On 4 Love

We’ve all been there. Here is a heart felt track about a love so right that can go so wrong with nothing to salvage but the hearsay. Classical guitar, strings, drum sequence, bass and vocal.

Don’t ask, Don’t tell

This song is a tribute to a woman who showed me how to love and be loved. My Grandmother Mary Scala. She was raised in a time where virtue and hard work had meaning. She gave her entire being for the sake of love and never asked for anything other than respect and kindness in return. From here forward I will rename her as Mary Stardust ( for the year she was born - the jazz song Stardust was a hit on the radio ) . This new meaning will serve well for the cosmic magnitude she had on mine and so many peoples lives.

Six in the morning

A mix of many genres, with a heavy emphasis on funk and dance beats including string section breakdown for a touch of Christmas class. A message of joy and peace, love and dance to groove your mother, sister, brother and funk your father too.

A Funky Christmas

Every now and then, a performer has a great show that makes them glow for the universe to observe long after the final note. Here is a funky instrumental about the lasting energy of that great performance being transferred over to the after party. Welcome to the soirée.

Raw mix of bass. drums, guitar & vocal.  A cross between  James Brown & Miles Davis.  I used a Roland JC 120 for the effect in the solo, where I tried to mimic a trumpet solo. Produced & performed by CU3, written by Anthony David Gadaleta(2011).

Raw mix, Do Ya Want To Get Funky

I wrote this song in the early 1990s on a piano in the back of a restaurant I worked. What was just a vocal & piano song has finally come to this. Neo-soul meets hip hop loops w/the following instrumentation: classical guitar, vocals, strings, electric piano, low bass tones, 3 drum tracks, guitar percussion. The SUN is an ongoing theme in my writing, here is LADY SHINE.

Funky pop track. Breakdown is a direct reflection of 2020. The tale of two stories. The anxiety to explain the breakdown happening in this world today and the solution of the power of undeniable love to save us. The lyric, you can shake to love-but you can’t break the love, best sums it up.￼ This demo was recorded on GarageBand. I’m looking to re-record these ideas on a larger scale. Looking for national interest and airplay. Looking for possible production. What do you think?

I present to you WONDERLiGHT. Long before the current situation, we were heading in the wrong direction here on planet Earth. This is a story of divine intervention from a higher power, either coming to help us to a better outcome or a quicker end ( depending on your perspective/interpretation ). Over 7 minutes long, by all modern music listening this would be crazy to release, but I couldn’t stop the groove.

This is a demo written & performed by Anthony David Gadaleta. I intend to record this on a larger scale. I encourage feedback, edit and production ideas - thoe I feel I got the most out of the GarageBand software I use. Enjoy.

Wonderlight

I had the honor of experiencing the rare pleasure of being in a band with my brother John Anthony Gadaleta at a time in life when innocence was young and the future was open wide. I dedicate this song to you my brother. Although there is so much to talk about and remember, I choose this picture & these moments as a memorial of how special it was to be a part of a band with him. The rehearsals in my parents cellar that we opened to our friends as a weekly concert. Our first audition then gig at Bishop Grimes High School, Grimes Day playing Street of Dreams. Unforgettable shows at Gary’s, The Lost Horizon, Jumping Jacks. Lit City will forever rock. 

I’ll see you across the sky my brother, burn bright for us all to see. This is not goodbye.

A break from big production, going back to a simple song. Jazz with a pop hook, I decided to keep the title wait a minute although the hook is “ the same game “. The message of this piece is through your own passion and hard work you can get somewhere you are proud of in the future. Go with an easy mind and a kind heart, play the long game and break away from the same.

Anthony is a singer/songwriter & instrumentalist based in the New York Metro area. Performing live as the powerhouse frontman, musical director & guitarist of the popular CT based “What Up Funk Band .” What Up has gained success as one of the top live acts with reimagined dance grooves & two original recordings, primarily written by Anthony (As Funky U Wanna B & Soulfunkful). 

Other credits include: BROTHER COOL DUO( Radio Hits  A-Z ), AG3 ( Classic Rock n Dance Trio ), the BAND TOGETHER family(regional all star band, music w/ a purpose), original funk rock CU3E and touring & recording w/ DON’T ASK & The How ‘Bout it Horns. A graduate of the Purchase School of music(1994, classical guitar, BA in fine arts). Anthony teaches, plays and records modern guitar, music & melodies.
