Pray For Summer, August 30th

This music project is my pride and joy; the last 5 months of determined effort. I hope to once use my platform to discuss spiritual energies.This is the sequel to Testaments, and some of the themes near the end of that album transfer over to here, however it features a lot more hope this time around.

There are two approaches to things that are scary or overwhelming. There is acceptance (gratitude) and there is avoidance (fear). Fear vs. gratitude is a spiritual battle that occurs for everyone, whether it's a newborn or the death of a loved one. We either learn to be bitter and angry (this can last until senior years), or we roll with the punches and remain grateful for what we still have.

Right now we exist in a fearful era, everyone is on edge, nervous and battling against the terrifying monster that is Covid-19. I began to think of names for this project in March. Summer was canceled, and the idea of "Praying for Summer" seemed to resonate and feel like everyone could understand.

I relate this fear of Covid to the fear of becoming a new father. I have to choose gratitude, fight the immense amount of fear that being a 22 year old dad entails, and cycle positive energy and gratitude in order to stay afloat.

Sonically the first 5 songs are pop punk, very upbeat high energy. The 2nd half, the other 5 songs, are more reflective and somber, featuring a slower paced atmospheric emo / alternative sound.

This project is genuinely an encapsulation of the running water that is my mind, the shifting pendulum that is my soul, and the complete and utterly exhausted but hopeful & grateful father that is my body
