The original Petra version of this song was a keyboard ballad that appeared on their "Back to the Street" record (their first album with John Schlitt on vocals) in 1986. Windup Rocket's Brad Davis and Anthony Gravley sang Thankful Heart at their very first band practice together in Jr. high school. 
Fast forward to 2013 and things have come full circle so to speak!
