Electric Indigo, DJ, composer, musician has performed in 45 countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. She represents an intelligent and distinguished interpretation of techno and electronic music. In 1998 she founded the transnational female:pressure network for which she received an Honorary Mention at Prix Ars Electronic in 2009. The Republic of Austria awarded her with the Kunstpreis Musik in 2020. Electric Indigo premiered her compositions at festivals like Wien Modern, Musikprotokoll, CTM or Heroines of Sound and composed for Klangforum Wien. Her debut album “5 1 1 5 9 3” came out on Imbalance Computer Music, followed by "Ferrum" on Editions Mego in 2020. “Brittle” was released on Ventil Records in 2022.

In between hypnotic and organic techno. Innocent and aggressive at the same time. From Slovakia, based in the Czech Republic. What she likes most about DJing is playing long hours to create an experience full of immersion. Adventurous and dreamy. Vibrant and warm. 

Born and raised in the foothills of the Tatra Mountains of Slovakia, Madeleine brings a fresh breeze to the Czechoslovak techno scene. Always on the move between Prague, Bratislava, and Brno, she hits it hard from all angles, as a dj, event organiser, and aspiring techno producer. 

Her deep, immersive techno sets are crafted with the music production skills from studying sound-design and also from her event production involvement with @spektrumkolektiv. They kicked the series off in May this year with the Japanese legend, Takaaki Itoh, at the dj booth and they continue to keep standards high as Madeleine’s determined to inspire local party-goers with events that elevate raves to next level hypnotising journeys.

Electronic centipede George Thompson aka Black Merlin debuts on DJ Nobu's Bitta label. The British producer delivers four expertly warped techno trips with his typical genre-bending approach. After his recent trip to Japan for Rural Festival 2019, Thompson was introduced to Nobu on the Iiyama train station for their ride back to Tokyo. Inspired by the festival itself and Nobu's approach to techno the two felt an immediate connection and stayed in touch for exchanging their ideas. A few months later Thompson sent his music, visualizing a bridge to connect his music closer to Japan and the inspiration he got from his Rural visit. Nobu: "I was immediately convinced it was a great match, and I could tell he had been following the previous Bitta releases and understood the label's aesthetics. To me, this EP demonstrates his new vision of dynamic techno thats so thrilling as if you were watching a movie, all illuminated in gorgeous pastel-coloured sound effects!"

The cohesive array of depth charged devices that Anthony Linell has produced is formidable. From his opening statements as Abdulla Rashim on his early label of the same name, right through to his recent work that puts his aliases aside, there is a robust and rigorous intent that compounds the elemental strategies of techno's models to apprehend his singular vision.

Presiding over Stockholm's Northern Electronics label with Varg (Jonas Rönnberg), Linell dispenses with mechanisms of attention on all fronts. Marked by an indefatigable self-reliance, the label presents exactly what it means to display, and no more. Carving an idiosyncratic platform for his music is as great of a warning as there could be that Linell's leveraging little toward the benefit of the audience. By his measure, the familiarity and comfort of contemporary techno is stripped back to its rushing heart, the senses left tailgating the strobe in a fit of intuition over decision. The greater this is exposed the colder it gets, and its in these extremes that Linell's caustic rhythmic precision hits. Live, it comes off as a galvanizing strike from the outside; analysing the room as a DJ, it's a case of being pursued through the dark.

Just as the brevity of Linell's output in the eyes of techno is exalted as it is brought into focus, the background to this blurs as you start to decipher his other projects. Lundin Oil skirts the fringes of noise and experimental music, and in collaboration with Varg as Ulwhednar, this is perhaps even more pronounced.

Purposively ricocheting between the techno world and experimental electronic music, Linell forges a distinct passage that gathers the aesthetically uncompromising motifs and missions from across this spectrum. It's this combination and resolve that's brought Linell to the world's attention, however little that attention has been solicited.
