A piece for violin and piano, written for the author Ruth Thomas - partly in response to her wonderful novel "The Snow and the Works on the Northern Line".

Two traditional tunes, one rather confused drummer

The second tune is "Christmas Cheer" from Playford's "The Dancing Master"

Here we come a-wassailing

Duet for clarinet and bassoon, inspired by birds on telegraph wires. All the notes are "on the lines" of the stave - not in the spaces.

Yet another track that sounds like an 80s cop show. Weirdly minimalist, atmospheric and repetitive. Just how I like it.

Unburnt Boats

A 18th-century dance tune (from Playford's "Dancing Master") played on 17th, 19th, 20th and 21st-century instruments. Pure it isn't.

Jack a Lent

A chilly, wonky arrangement of a medieval French carol, featuring a theorbo with pythagorean tuning, a hurdy-gurdy with a stuck key, a magpie, some catalan pipes and ice floes.

Noel Nouvelet

A slow, gentle groove - a bit ambient, a bit dance, a bit retro. This is my favourite of all my tunes - and the guitar in the fade-out is my favourite bit of all.

Here's another tune from Playford's "Dancing Master" given a very sparse, gentle arrangement.  It's a pretty tune with a slightly lopsided twist.
