Creatures is a 6 minute piece composed with the objective of the voice being the sole instrument. With nine different layers, the work encompasses the alternate registers of the vocal range to create a vast and expressive piece that includes multiple connotations unique to each listener. The leading theme of the piece is destruction, with the use of the word “creatures” as a metaphor for the human race, and “darkness” as a metaphor for a broken and neglected world. The lead vocal part will be sung live, with the vocal harmonies and accompanying parts being triggered with a Launchpad during the performance.
