Funky track with prominent piano / organ melodies, influenced by 70-80's american detective-movie chase scenes

Melancholic, funky track with trumpets, Rhodes background, liquid synth work and some guitars at the end, against the backdrop of organic rhythm section.

My entry for a music competition at one of Polish demoscene meetings. Ended up in Top 5 I think, but people were getting fed up with that kind of style and some noticed I nicked a lot of the samples (sounds) from very famous British musician at the time. Still, I like it a lot :)

[1994] Gurgle

A juxtaposition of overall a very sad mood & birds' chirping, which is probably where I took the "paradise" name from. 

This one was actually started (and completed - for the most part) at my friends' house during summer break. At home I only worked out the details, intro and some transitions and that was it. Personally, I love the synths in the background and the simple bassline, while the saxophone annoys me a bit when stretched to high registers... Well, the beauty of sample-based tracker music, I guess.

[1994] Paradise Part I

This is inspired by electro / space-pop music of artists like Koto, but also Polish musicians like M. Biliński or W. Komendarek. A lovely, deep-space music with spacious synths, hypnotizing bass and angelic chords ;) :D

Cheesy as hell, but I still like it - the more wacky 2nd part in particular.

This one's interesting, because it fuses my interests at the time - slow, hypnotic and trancey techno with funk and synth electronica. Still can't understand how I came up with the 2nd part - pure pschedelic noodling!

[1995] Hypnotrance

This started as an experiment - I borrowed a sampler that I could plug into my Amiga 600, a simple kids' Casio synth from a friend and started sampling single sounds & chords. This is the reason it sounds so dirty (i.e. distorted, with a lot of noise), but also is 100% created by sounds I recorded myself, which was VERY rare these days.

A more conscious take on the "paradise" theme from earlier track, with even better bassline and meticulously programmed guitar lead part (should have seen it in ProTracker!). The middle flute part my friend called a "sielanka" which roughly translates as something idyllic, eerie, etc., but the guitar after that still sounds awesome (IMO, of course).

Happy-hardcore was a peculiar branch of techno music, characterized by very fast & hard techno beats ...and happy, sunny melodies & singing. If you were growing up in 90's you'll remember Love Parades in Berlin and artists like Westbam, Scooter, Blumchen, Dune, Marusha, etc.  

All I lacked was talented female singer :(

If you had an Amiga, you probably played games by Core Design with music by Nuke/Spaceman - well, this is his style and even his samples. So cheerful & happy!

[1996] Up 'n' Down

My first completed track since 1999! :o 

An old-school Psychedelic Goa Trance tune, slightly on the slower side (135BPM) combining funky bass line, emotional melodies, smashing breaks and twisted, spaced-out acid lines. A throw back into the "golden era" - the late 90s!!!

Written, produced, mixed and "mastered" in Ableton Live 9.7 using its native instruments, effects and few free Max For Live ones.

[2017] Wormhole

This one is my 1st track in Reason! It's an old-school psychedelic trance, probably much too dense & complex for its own good, but that's the way I like it :)

I've been using Reason for a year now, coming from Live & Bitwig (still use them all interchangeably) and really love it and where it's going! The track uses mostly native instruments & FX, some REs (Parsec, The Legend, FM4, Synchronous, Polar, Fat Space, GQ-7, Distillery) and 2x instances of Phoscyon VST. It was made and is running (without any bouncing to audio) on a Surface Pro 4 i7 with Bayerdynamics DT-990Pro. Yeah, that's my "studio" :D

[2020] Just Like A Mirror (work-in-progress)

I started writing music in trackers on 8-bit Atari in early 90s, then continued on 16-bit Amiga and PC - funk, techno, trance - in late 90's and had a break from it for almost 18 years. 

Now I'm back, learning the new, overwhelming world of modern DAWs: synthesis, sound design, MIDI, VSTs :)
