MARRØN, known for his rhythmic sound driven by his roots, has curated a hypnotizing mix exclusively for Float Records. The mix is released as a limited mix CD containing 31 unreleased tracks by up and coming talents and established artists from the techno landscape. Next to the CD, all tracks are released separately as a VA.  

A word from MARRØN: When I was approached to do a cd mix for Float Records with my complete input from a dj perspective, I was nothing but honored and motivated to create something special. I’ve selectively chosen producers who I feel musically connected to and those who could use a push in their young careers. It’s important for me to be able to give back to the scene as much as it gives me. 

This mix and all the tracks selected are mainly focused on the key elements I wish for in techno, which is having a locked in groove and rhythm throughout the whole duration of time. Pushing for detailed minimalism and pace that keeps you in a driving energetic mood. Punchy variated low ends but never too heavy, a mix that brings the club dancefloor to wherever you are listening to it.

Duplicity 123 | Conntex

Living, breathing, banging techno from an artist defining the highly-textured new frontier of the sound in 2024.

Lindsey Wang, AKA Polygonia, has an amorphous style you could call organic—or, better yet, harmonious. She interweaves unfamiliar elements with a mercurial touch. Wang can make something completely otherworldly sound totally, well, natural. It's made her a fixture everywhere from Munich's BLITZ to major festivals like Sustain-Release and Draaimolen.

Unsurprisingly, Wang is not one to be pinned down. Be it the sound design-anchored side project Lyder, her own label QEONE, or co-producing an album's worth of experimental percussion alongside jazz drummer Simon Popp, it's fair to say her personal output matches the feverish energy of her mixes. There's multidisciplinary, and then there's Wang: Poly-disciplinary, you might say.

Wang's entry into the RA Podcast series is no different, another stellar emphasis of her artistry. RA.955 is a voyage into wild variations of texture, rhythm and feeling, guided along by the principle of endless metamorphosis. Supple driving grooves meet crinkled surfaces, scuttling hi-hats meet chattering sonics, and good luck keeping hold of a consistent drum pattern for long. Behold a living organism raised by the club and the great outdoors in equal measure.

Number 098 of our mix series is delivered by Varuna. Enamored with the sense of unity that arises on sweaty dance floors, her goal is to create more of this unity and connect people with themselves and others through music. Growing up as the child of a former drummer and percussionist, she found early inspiration that laid the foundation for her sound as it is today. Her music blends intricate, jazz-infused rhythms with gritty, ever-evolving soundscapes, soulful pads, and otherworldly, trippy sounds. Drawing from elements of Detroit techno, ambient, dub, acid, electro, and sometimes broken beats, she creates a futuristic utopian landscape where body and mind can connect.

Currently working as a junior audio engineer and studying at the Conservatory of Amsterdam’s Electronic Music Academy, she continues to explore and evolve her sound.

He hosts various events in Tokyo, Japan and also plays at various famous venues in Japan. He is currently concentrating on creating his own sound and groove.

Functional Disorder, alias of Riccardo Novara, is a project conceived to express, represent, and recreate the chaotic and hedonistic vortex of the dancefloor.

 Through a musical journey that transcends space, time, and genres, it leads the listener into worlds governed by the energy of the moment.

Riccardo is also co-founder of Eramrecords label, a sound engineer, producer, and resident DJ at the Closer Milano collective.
