Rhadoo is one of the most important figures in Romanian minimal scene, as well as the underground scene. His DJ and production skills knows no boundaries. His style blends the old with the new, adding new elements to modern electronic music. In 2007, he founded the label [a:rpia:r] with his trusted friends Petre Inspirescu and Raresh. The label’s reputation grew rapidly worldwide and is now a solid platform for artists and music connoisseurs.

Creating worlds never seen before and the constant return to nature as the ultimate designer and source of inspiration are the prosperous obsessions shaping the artistic practice of Silviu Vișan a.k.a Dreamrec. Growing up around his artisan father who was building oversized toys for an amusement park turned into the perfect context to learn about the emotional experience of immersive environments and the secrets of morphing a place into an event. Not to mention it was the starting point for the self-thought wizard to try his hand at DIY magic either bringing joy or conjuring horror. Years later using videofeedback and layers of state-of-the-art software as tools to explore the unusual time&space where computers become genuinely unpredictable and the output becomes a fluid stream of pareidolia, Dreamrec is channeling in international festivals, clubs and art spaces his own visual aesthetic: immersive, mesmerizing and fictional as if visitors / partygoers physically stepped into another dimension. Technology as the number one source of inspiration. Real time musical programming, unlimited improvisation and experimentation. Stretching the boundaries of electronic music.
Atom™ and Tobias. have been two key figures in the development of European ‘techno’ from the very beginning. Active since the 1980s, both artists have represented major cogs in the community. 1990 marks their first collaborative performance in Frankfurt, emerging as one of the first live shows ever played within this scene. From here the two started a journey of sonic explorations which led them to release the mighty “Elektroniikkaa” live recording from Helsinki and Montreux. Their subsequent releases are all derivatives of live performances, which consistently remain the number one focus.

Despite a spatial separation given by Atom’s relocation to Chile and Tobias’ to Berlin, upon reconnecting with the machines in 2003 creative flow surged spontaneously. Throughout the expressive tool of live performance, Atom™ and Tobias are able to create sound through an eccentrical deviation from all musical standards and a total adaptation to their environment.

This is the core of their improvisations: a total abandonment to each other's creativity, in which their consciousnesses merge and flow into the instruments in front of them.
Having both experienced three decades of music and some of the world’s most exceptional dance floors such as Berghain or Panorama Bar, their knowledge of the sonic realm is limitless. Their latest performances have reached clubs such as Kyiv’s Closer to Japan’s Labyrinth Festival in Japan.

https://soundcloud.com/patriciakaas: It's quite a while since I've recorded a mix reflecting a dancefloor. So this one is definitely a special one. It captures my diverse taste for intellectual and tense electronic music. Filled with old gems as well as recently released psychotic tracks, the mix delivers a melomaniac rollercoaster. Take a dizzy sip!

The music of the Lithuanian producer Gediminas Jakubka, who turns into Patricia on stage, balances between borders. Patricia Kokett blends rave with mysticism, futuristic industrial with shamanic noise, and various reworked voices with hypnotic output. With his 2020 debut album ‘Bizarr’ (12” vinyl) on Dutch Knekelhuis imprint, Patricia Kokett quickly proved his knack for creating transcendental, immersive sonic experiences. 

Following up with touring around Europe’s clubs, the covid period was an existential stop and a deep moment of reflection. In addition to this, Patricia Kokett has finished the third EP entitled ‘Psykhe’, which was released on the ‘Isla to Isla’ label on 12” vinyl in 2023. Psykhe continues to explore his distinct sound, but taking it in a new direction: a step away from the euphoric new age dance floor and into a significantly murkier, more precarious territory.

Explaining his music as ‘trippy techno,’ Patricia Kokett enhances this epithet in highly emotional and wild live sets. The forthcoming live gigs will consist of new music from the upcoming record, filled with the trippy ethos of electronica. DJ sets always contain adventurous and challenging sounds, which lead listeners to uncharted territories.

Gediminas Jakubka also works as a cinema composer and has a couple of movies which has to be noted. ‘Animus Animalis’ by Aiste Zegulyte, released in 2019, and ‘Toxic’ by Saule Bliuvait,e released in 2024. The latter OST was released on a vinyl record and is being qualified as the second full-length album by Gediminas Jakubka/Patricia Kokett.

After 15 years of collecting music, there are a lot of tracks don’t ever find a home on a dance floor.. they don’t need to, they are for other purposes.. for mellow afternoons, moonlit nights in the garden or cozy couch sessions with rain drops knocking on the windows. They are the kind of tracks that are discovered while endless digging sessions on Bandcamp, or they pop up when riding my bike home, and they make me stop at the side of the street since I want to save them and throw them into my big dreamy track pool.
Here’s my current selection of these tracks, all weaved into a continuous story. A mellow, soft and slow story.. one that hopefully takes you to all these places that I envision, when I listened to them for the first time. Enjoy 💫
