Reggae Roast has built some serious momentum recently especially after the unveiling of their brand new, hand-crafted soundsystem, a series of critically acclaimed releases and sell out shows across the UK & Europe. As a result they are slowly establishing themselves as one of the top Reggae outfits in the world. To celebrate they are proud to release what is set to be one of the big tunes of summer 2015, ‘Soundsystem’. 

“We want a big soundsystem up inna di place!” UK Reggae veteran Brother Culture chants over the top of a heavyweight digital stormer of a track produced by the Reggae Roast crew which instantly sets the vibe. ‘Soundsystem’ has been shaking speaker stacks from London to Lithuania and Bristol to Budapest and it’s guaranteed will mash up any dancehall! 

Brother Culture is somewhat of a legend in the Reggae music game and has been promoting the positive message of Rastafari through his music for over 30 years. Hailing from Brixton, BC was an original member of the revered Jah Revelation Muzik Soundsystem in 1982 and he has since worked with many of the top sounds & producers over the years, including Manasseh & Mungo’s Hi-Fi. 

To complete the release package we’ve asked the mighty Benny Page (Digital Soundboy) to remix the track the way only he can. Benny’s name is synonymous with tight production, monstrous bass-weight and clinical mixing skills and this remix is a true representation of his style. Expect Brother Culture’s hard Ragga vox, thunderous bass and heavy, heavy drum patterns presented with style. 

With a full year of crucial releases scheduled and soundsystem sessions booked worldwide, 2015 is set to be one of the best years so far for Reggae Roast so keep them eyes peeled!

Brian is back behind the controls for another slammin' release via Jungle Cakes. He's linked up with Yemi Bolatiwa and Ricky Tuff for a full on combination of summertime vibes for these two tracks which have the label's roots fully implanted in their DNA.

'Footwork Skank' brings out the brass selection with a full on array of trumpets combined with polished vocals from Yemi which flood the speakerbox with positivity. If you were ever unsure how to do the one foot skank to some upfront jungle, this is no doubt the tune to get your head in check to. 

Brian and Ricky Tuff join forces on a stripped back jungle roller in the form of 'Gunshot'. Sneaky hip hop inspired one shots and instrumental loops are the order of the day here which are propped up by one hell of a subliminal bassline. 

Fully on a mission for 2020, Brian Brainstorm is one to watch this year and beyond.

Gold Dubs have had a very busy year so far and to top it all off - a release on the biggest jungle label in existence. ‘Jungle Is Changing’ is certainly one hell of a bold statement, however, with some serious backing from Serial Killaz, it’s something we are all willing to roll with.

Hopping straight into the Gold Dubs spaceship and straight into oblivion with ‘Distress Call’. One for the hardstep crew with its filtered out breaks and midrange bass notes, a tune that would fit perfectly in both your DJ sets and homemade Sci Fi movies. Cheshire Cat provides some memorable lyrics on ‘Rise Up’, a tasty mix of reggae roots and upfront jungle warfare. Scatty breakbeats fire all kinds of direct shots over the perfectly written chorus which will stay in your head for months to come. Hold tight Fleck on the link up.

‘Now’ is a grotty little roller, pure in its form of providing nothing but filth to the dancefloor. No messing about, straight for the jugular. You really do need to hear this through a big rig, a basement studio or a decent pair of headphones to fully appreciate it. Gilly G, a name you might have heard of? No doubt if you’re a keen reggae fan he’s probably on your hit list already. Good news then as he’s all over ‘Random’, a riddim so tough even that bulletproof vest you’re reaching for is probably of no use.

Final track ‘The Jungle is Changing’ backs up the initial statement. Our music is changing, it’s been through a big 360 degree spin many times, sometimes butchered, sometimes championed and this track demonstrates one form of upfront jungle that reflects both the future and the past. Pull up that shit!
