His first album, Piano Works I, incorporates piano and impressionistic swaths of electronics, with poignant melodies that reach back in time to resurrect distant memories. The album artwork, a portrait shot on an early twentieth-century camera using period film, highlights a tension between what was and what will be, depicting a faceless woman in traditional Russian dress, underscoring the broken ties from a vibrant and proud cultural past.
