We are thrilled to have legendary Chicago House and Downtempo DJ and Producer Mark Farina kicking off his new monthly “Mushroom Jazz” residency here on OpenLab! 
The first episode is a downtempo adventure inspired by a late 90’s trip to Ibiza. Don’t miss out:

"Somewhere around 1999/2000, DJ Sneak and I arrived in Ibiza, but our luggage, including our vinyl crates did not. We spent the next 36 hours driving back and forth from the Saint Eulalia area checking for our vinyl after every flight with our airline. This was pre-cell phone era, so communication was sparse at best. After at least 6-8 trips back and forth, they arrived on the last flight possible to have records for our gig. Mushroom Jazz 01 - Mark Farina

Isaac Varzim es un músico de formación clásica, pero se dedicaba a la producción musical y al DJ.
que encontró su verdadera pasión. Durante sus estudios de composición y dirección
la universidad a principios de la década de 2000, obtuvo acceso al primer software de producción musical,
donde no solo podía crear su propia música en su dormitorio, sino también tocarla en vivo en
diversas formas.

Como productor musical, ha lanzado cinco álbumes originales, numerosos remixes y ediciones,
y ha producido música para bandas, cantantes y una amplia gama de proyectos como TV
espectáculos, cine, teatro, moda, juegos y documentales.
En la industria de la música, Isaac Varzim también es productor de eventos con su compañía CAOS.
Productions, y manejó SIC RADIO, una estación de radio en línea que ganó el premio
a la Mejor Radio Online del mundo en Italia en 2014.
Como DJ, ha estado activo desde 2001 y ha actuado en varios lugares, desde
grandes festivales a pequeñas fiestas underground, en Brasil y varios países europeos.

Actualmente, mantiene su canal de YouTube, donde sube regularmente mezclas, edits,
remixes y sus propias producciones, con un promedio de 1 millón de visitas por mes.

This 2 hour journey cast us straight back to that Neotropiq NYD party which lay just south of the river - where we heard him play track for track with SER006 contributor 'Trixie'. That morning really was one for the books... and this mix more than pays testament to that - with it's effortless weaving through melodic house records, deeply rooted UK-inspired breaks and deeper cuts reminiscent of that late 90s Chicago sound.

This guest mix is very special for me because it's a pure Electro journey with quality and rare sounds and it's mixed by Feryne, who is an amazing and talented Hungarian dj based in the Netherlands. ;)

A real music freak, who has mixed her fave electro, IDM and techno tracks since 2005. She is the former co-editor of Selection Sorted TechnoPodcast, has been a guest in many-many radioshows and podcasts, she has played in many clubs and festivals of Hungary(Kontra, wndrlnd, Corvinteto, Müszi, Kuplung, R33, Egál,S.U.N festival,Ozora ect...) and also abroad, like Slovakia,Austria,Romania and France. She is currently based in Nijmegen(NL). Since 2018 she is running her own show, 'bAnger management' on FNOOB techno radio.
