Every song has a story. Towards the end of 2013, my wife & I walked away from the doctors who were unable to explain why we couldn't have a baby. We gave up, but soon received a word from a friend who believed that our baby was coming. So began our up-and-down faith journey and this song was written in the midst of it. Rachel Grace was born in April 2016. Our miracle girl.

STAY - Rihanna (acoustic cover)

I've been wrestling for a little while with the idea of seeing the world through the eyes of Christ. How would I consider and care for people around me? How would I prioritise my life, responsibilities and finances? I wrestle with every song, you must understand, but this one made me starkly aware of my own need for renewal, and that the gap between my eyes and the eyes of Christ is more like a chasm.

Ephesians 4 (and Colossians 3) is particularly challenging: "..Put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires, to be made new in the attitude of your minds, and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."

It is my prayer that the Lord will do this work of renewal within me and in our community - a transformation in mind, heart and vision, and that our hearts will be broken for those around us.
