Zombie Cats return to the label for their next release for Dispatch Recordings, alongside Redemptive for Centauri / Slipped.

Having met through Zombie Cats’ own label CREATURED, it didn’t take long to realise their production styles would vibe. Sharing a detailed approach to atmosphere, sound design, and musicality it was clear that their sounds would combine effortlessly.

The track “Centauri” is inspired by the animated series BoJack Horseman. The main character is a horse with a human body and is set in the late 90’s. As devotees of the classic timeless dnb that has its roots in the 90’s, the name Horseman seemed perfect. Translated into Latin it gave the final title “Centauri”.

Written during a period of dramatic change, Jolliffe set out to channel the resulting emotions into the collaborative ‘Cuts And Communication’, a dark roller that took on new life once Molecular joined the project, inflating the tune with exciting new sonics, distortion and that trademark Molecular groove. 

‘Etymology Of A Naked Stand’ started life inside an Akai S2000, written almost entirely on this infamous sampler. For this tune, Jolliffe explores feelings of loss, the introspective melodics running throughout this track are matched with crisp drum work and deep sub-bass.

Dispatch Dubplate makes its long-awaited return with the first of six new releases, brought to you by Mako – including a collab with Ben Soundscape.

Setting out to champion the best in unreleased music and those tunes which have been long cherished dubs by prominent figures within the dnb community, Dispatch Dubplate returns after an almost two-year break with this special release from Mako.

Heading up the release is “The Man”, a tune that Ant TC1 has been playing for years and could never put down. One that prompted constant ID requests from DJs and ravers alike, this tune fully represents the Dispatch Dubplate ethos due to the mystery and hype surrounding the track. Originally made as an experiment, with Mako wanting to focus on crusty-sounding production with no mid-bass or prominent fog horns – it’s a back-to-basic track that celebrates the raw energy of drum and bass. After much email wrangling and WhatsApp-based arm-twisting, we’re pleased to finally get this stand-out track out there.

The Dispatch Dubplate series makes vinyl the focus, and each release features an exclusive track that will never be sold digitally. “Mission Critical” champions our favourite format on this release with a loop-based roller dreamt up on a hazy, stoned day. Originally forgotten about by Mako himself, this one was championed by Mikal (and Ant of course) and has now found its way out there thanks to Mik’s love and appreciation.

Completing the release is a collab with Ben Soundscape, Mako’s personal favourite of the three. Utilising some drums from another tune called “Tell Me Something” released by Mako on Metalheadz, the pair set out to make something new. Originally signed by the late, great, Marcus Intalex for Soul:R it was eventually swapped out for a different tune of Mako’s – this makes it another perfect fit for Dispatch Dubplate, given the love and following it created during live sets but never saw the light of day (until now).

A welcome return to this fabled series, watch this space for more.

Since their first release for Dispatch in 2019, Genic have gone from strength to strength. With multiple releases and features for Dispatch alongside releases for Sauce Recordings, Sofa Sound and Dutty Audio, the Genic sound continues to evolve.

This two-track album sampler delivers a taste of what to expect from their sophomore LP, “Process”. Two years since their debut album “Rough Nights”, the full-length follow-up reflects their growth as artists and reinforces their unique take on the genre.

Antagonist’s “Kalpa EP” showcases his commitment to pushing boundaries within the drum & bass genre. With 5 tracks that bridge the gap between sonic exploration and dancefloor energy, this release is a journey into the depths of creativity, perfectly encapsulating the Dispatch Limited ethos.

The EP opens with “Hagalaz,” an abrasive and metallic track that exudes a Nordic feel, evoking a sense of cold, icy brutality. The name itself is derived from the Ninth Viking Rune, symbolizing destruction and rebirth – a representation of the immense energy required for positive change.

“Antithesis (Alternative Mix),” a collaboration between Antagonist and multi-disciplined creative, Loomis, is a deeply personal creation. Their shared cinematic vision shines through in this track, while the original stripped-back “autonomic” version remains a secret weapon reserved for those in the know.

“Saturn’s Shift” delves into the mythic energy and power of the planet Saturn, with its return to its original position signifying the transition to adulthood. The track embodies this transformative journey through its evocative soundscapes.

The EP’s title track, “Kalpa,” symbolizes creation and the lifespan of the universe itself. Antagonist’s exploration of these themes results in a composition that is both thought-provoking and mesmerizing.

We’re proud to bring you our next release from Zero T, returning to the label after 2019’s Dispatch Dubplate 013 and 2018’s Little Pieces LP. 

Zero T's discography reflects the diversity that his DJ sets have always shown, ranging from full vocal smoothness to more rolling, dance floor styles. This release is no exception, with two tracks ‘Hurt Inside’ and ‘Sonic Bionic’ effortlessly demonstrating his range and varied influences.

‘Hurt Inside’ was written with an early 2000's MIST influence. The piano and vocal are the beating heart of this track, setting the mood perfectly. All the other elements have been kept clean and simple so as to not get in their way. 

‘Sonic Bionic’ began with the harp loop, channelling a dark Wu Tang type of vibe. From there the inspiration just flew – a Bristol style, two-tone ascending bass with hip hop vocal samples and scratches combined with a stepping beat. A simple, stripped back groove - one for the DJs.

Hurt Inside / Sonic Bionic

Ant TC1 along with Hidden Agenda founded Dispatch Recordings back in 2001, Ant originally helped out with the management side of the label before finding his feet within the realms of production; which was a natural progression for him having DJ’d on pirate radio and in clubs from the age of 14 (since 1992).  His first release alongside frequent production partner Stress Level appeared on Dispatch after almost 3 years of hard work getting their collective sound where they felt it needed to be (before even thinking about turning on a DAT recorder).  After their first release hit the stores they quickly picked up a wealth of DJ support across their early material and went on to release for a who’s who list of established Drum & Bass record labels including the likes of Renegade, CIA, Advanced, Critical Records Integral, Liquid V, Commercial Suicide, Good Looking Records, Bingo Beats and Samurai Music. 

By demand remix work started to feature heavily within their output and the duo went on to remix for the likes of Hidden Agenda, Chris SU, Artificial Intelligence, Kabuki, Total Science, Optical & Ryme Time (Jagged Edge), Atlantic Connection, Tactile & DJ Marky.  Branching out and working with other producers such as Survival & DLR has only furthered Ant’s skills at the controls over the years, Ant has also released his own solo material more recently on top of remixing for the likes of Lomax on Integral Records.  In 2014 Ant realised a lifetime ambition, securing his first ever release for the legendary Metalheadz label “Hungry For Atmosphere” alongside Mako, DLR & Villem. 

Ant’s production output has featured on a mass of compilations and mix CD’s compiled by the likes of Shy FX, LTJ Bukem, Total Science, AI, Spectrasoul, Klute and Brian G.  Additionally his work has featured very heavily within the radio shows of Friction, Grooverider, Fabio, Goldie & Bailey on their respective BBC Radio 1 slots over the years as well as BBC 1Xtra where Ant once hosted his own one-off 4 hour show, he has since additionally made 2 guest appearance for DJ Friction on his BBC Radio 1 show.  His DJ’ing work has seen him play all over the globe from Adelaide to Los Angeles, from Hong Kong to Sarajevo, Tel-Aviv to Bangkok and last but by no means least regularly UK and EU wide.

Fast forward to 2017 and Ant is now responsible for the label management roles of both Metalheadz & Dispatch Recordings. Having released numerous compilation series on Dispatch, the hugely successful “Transit One” & “Transit Two” albums (topping almost all the usual stores weekly dance music sales charts across all formats) and the more recent milestone ‘Dispatch 100’, the label features a fine list of consistently quality music from the likes of DLR, Break, Survival & Silent Witness, Marcus Intalex, Klute, Nymfo, AI, Zero T, Cern, Dabs, Skeptical, Dub Phizix, himself (and many more). Ant has remixed material for the likes of Cern & Dabs, Sunchase, Quadrant & Iris, Friske, Nymfo as well as having his own solo work remixed by Xtrah along with working on further collabs alongside the likes of Survival, Dauntless and DLR.

Ant is also the head of Artist Management at both Outlook & Dimensions Festivals, playing a pivotal role in bringing consistently strong Drum & Bass acts to the Croatia every year, earning back to back 2013 & 2014 “Best Festival” accolades in both the Festival Awards & the Drum & Bass Arena annual awards.
