CSQ: Tell us a bit about your local techno scene. How has it shaped you as an artist?

SOBER: Growing up in the Netherlands, techno was everywhere, it’s part of the culture. For me, it wasn’t just techno. I was surrounded by classical music from a young age. Back then, I felt almost ashamed by how much I loved it because it didn’t seem "cool" to my friends. But as I got older, I realized none of that matters. It’s about embracing what moves you, not what others think. That early connection to classical is what shaped my identity as an artist today. It’s a fusion that’s become my signature sound in the scene.

CSQ: Would you like to share anything with the listeners about the set?

SOBER: A great set isn’t just about how hard the kicks hit or how high the BPM gets. It’s about the vibe, the flow of energy, and the creativity that comes through in the music. When I choose tracks, it's all based on the kind of energy I want to share with the crowd, the emotions I want to evoke. 

One thing I always recommend to people: take some time to listen artist like Frederic Chopin. Classical music is pure, deeply inspiring, and full of energy in its own way. No matter how powerful electronic music can be, there’s a timeless purity in classical music that nothing else can touch.

CSQ: How does the set reflect the development of your style and your DJing since you started?

SOBER: When I first got into producing, I was focused on making my tracks fit the mold—sound like everyone else’s. I was deep into house, EDM, and techno, and I thought that was the way it had to be. But once I realized the techno scene is all about creativity and pushing boundaries, everything shifted. I stopped following the rules and started blending my love for industrial sound with another passion of mine: orchestral music. That’s when my tracks started to take on their own identity, fusing the raw, mechanical energy of techno with the depth and emotion of orchestral arrangements. It’s been all about breaking barriers since then.
