This remix is a re-imagined version of Anusha’s single; “Loser”. Taking a more intimate approach (whilst still being sarcastic), the guitars and harmonies add more sugar to a spicy song about recognising the red flags in a situation-ship.

We’ve all felt isolated. Disabled people who are at home are isolated 24/7 due to COVID-19 and the lack of protections for us. Which means having to navigate relationships in ways we’ve never had to before. 

Burden is about the feeling of not being protected by those who promised they would. No matter what you say, they’ll prioritise their safety over yours. This song takes you on the realisation that you’re better off without them, even though it hurts.

Burden - Remix (Love, Builder of Worlds)

Coming from humble beginnings and living in poverty, Anusha managed to find her voice through her involvement in local youth singing groups and her own poetry. Originally trained in Classical Music but she branched out with her own music in 2021. Inspired by artists like Fiona Apple, serpentwithfeet and ANOHNI - she released her first single “Someone I Never Wanted”. 

After falling sick and becoming disabled in 2020, she decided to learn about disability and commit her creative endeavours to strictly virtual performances and remote music creation. She now continues to release music, visual art projects and physical zines. Her latest multimedia project is called "Burden" funded by Youth Music.
