The evolution of Damion 'Damo' Houchen, a.k.a. Genix, continues with a new EP and live brand, Warehouse55, that explores Damo's rave & club roots. 'Warehouse55 Volume 1' is out now on Anjunabeats.

It’s been an enthralling three years for Damo. In April 2019, he took the Guinness World Record for the highest altitude DJ set above sea level at Mount Everest Base Camp, 5,525 meters high. Glacier-shattering techno record ‘Ba55 Camp’ followed, inspired by his journey.

2021 saw the release of the ‘Praha EP' and his long-awaited debut artist album ‘199X’. A love letter to rave culture, '199X' showcased his diverse sound; from soulful vocal exploits ‘Numb’ (featuring LYCA) and Space Terrace-minded ‘Be Free’, to high octane anthems ‘Higher & Higher’ and ‘What You Do To Me’. It found eclectic support, from Oliver Heldens and Diplo, to Anja Scheider, Étienne de Crécy, Rex The Dog and Alan Fitzpatrick, the latter of which Genix later remixed on Anjunadeep.

While making '199X’, Damo was also listening to a lot of early chillout staples. After finishing the record, Damo reworked the entire thing - the result was '199X' (Chill Edition)', released in April 2022 and featuring chillout, ambient and drum & bass remixes from the man himself. 

A return to the club music that made him an in-demand DJ, Warehouse55 embraces the harder side of his sound. EP 1 kicks off with ‘Ba55 I5land’. Supported by Above & Beyond, Joseph Capriati, Marco Carola, Joris Voorn, Chris Lake and more, 'Ba55 I5land' is a sonic ode to his Everest trip and has proved to be a key part of Damo's sets over the summer, including closing out the Saturday of Group Therapy Weekender at The Gorge and the launch of 'Warehouse55' at Night Tales, London.

First heard on Fatum's Worldwide 10, ‘Your Destiny’ throws elements of Detroit techno into the mix, while EP closer ‘Acid Machine’ lives up to its name in suitably helter-skelter fashion.

'Warehouse55 Volume 1' is out now. Next up on Damo's touring schedule, appearances on the Anjunabeats stages at Creamfields and EH1 Festival, plus a sold out 'Warehouse55' rave in Los Angeles as part of the ABGT500 celebrations in October, alongside Bexxie and Fehrplay.

The first round of remixers from the Elliptical Sun Recordings 500 compilation sees Nikhil Prakash, Nourey and Vintage & Morelli step up to the plate.
Having delivered club bangers on the label dating all the way back to ‘Noodle’ from 2017, Nikhil Prakash has become a master of edgy productions with feel-good melodies. Taking on a track that’s right up his alley, Nikhil has reworked the 2017 hit ‘Oxygen’ by Adrian Alexander & The Antipodes, giving the anthem his signature bass-heavy paint job.
Nourey, a trance producer and MIT student out of Boston, has recently shot up the ranks of female producers in the scene. Coming off of her recent remix for Gabriel & Dresden on Anjunabeats, Nourey serves up her electro-inspired take on Quizzow’s hit ‘Era Of Tomorrow’. Trust us, it’s massive!
Finally, having only appeared on our Melodies imprint back on the ESM200 release, Serbia’s Vintage & Morelli makes his Elliptical Sun Recordings debut with his deep house-flavored respray of Jeff Ozmits’ ABGT Push The Button winner, ‘Show Me Love’.
