Anwar Hussein, was born March 31, 1982 in Lynn, Massachusetts. The second child born to international singing sensation Phaivahn Mekaloun, Anwar spent the early years of his life growing up in Providence, Rhode Island, enjoying the life of a regular kid.  Traveling with the family band was exciting and artistically stimulating to Anwar, who immediately found himself drawn to the instruments and technical aspects of music. Over time, Anwar discovered and  enjoyed many genres of music, with his heart finding a special place for the Hip-Hop style that  became his focal point until eventually,  he was totally absorbed in the hip-hop culture. By the age of 13, the precocious Anwar began producing rhythm tracks for himself, over which he could record his original raps, while honing his rhyming skill in the process.  Anwar was graduating from SAE (School of Audio engineering Institute) at 23, and had completed his first group hip-hop album, with a host of production credits from local artists that he had mentored along the way. The years that immediately followed this important accomplishment found Anwar dedicating most of his time towards expanding his clientele, and in the process, he rubbed shoulders with some of the most successful industry insiders - connections that landed him the privilege (and good fortune) to tour with some of the biggest names in hip- hop. The spiritual foundation Anwar acquired as part of the Buddhist legacy of his family's background inspired young Anwar with the desire to study and grasp the concepts of other major religions. Ultimately, his heart led him to the belief in and submission to One God, the Almighty Creator of mankind and everything that exists. Since the time that  Anwar fully embraced  Al-Islam, he decided to re-direct his artistic energy and love of music - transforming his abillity to rap into producing, engineering, writing, recording and performing Islamic Nasheed - creative and entertaining songs of praise, inspiration, and enlightenment that convey a positive message.
