For third show of 2024 we invited dexterous turntablist cut master & techno- & rap producer Rashaan Jackson a.k.a. DJ Ace. This show has finally come together after a couple of years in the making and we are incredibly happy to at last share his story & music with you all. Rashaan starts off at the age of 11 witnessing his older brother skillfully obliviate an opponent who challenged him on the wheels of steel at a local house party in Detroit. This is the first time Rashaan seen his brother in action behind the decks perhaps marking the exact starting point for his love & passion for deejaying. 

Still practically a teenager, Rashaan gets discovered by R.J. Watkins (of The New Dance Show) & R.J. Watkins Jr after reluctantly submitting a mixtape for a radio audition as a result of his cousin’s persistence. This quickly led up to his own radio show called “The Zone with DJ Ace & The Magician” on local Highland Park Radio also winning The Michigan Chronicle’s best DJ award two years in a row. Rashaan then continues his story by outlining some of his many experiences with the radio industry, record buying habits, DJ battles, mixing philosophy, joining Detroit Jit group X-Menn, friendship & respect among local DJs, analog track search, Cosmic Raindance & Belle Isle anecdotes, getting into producing rap, techno & ghetto tech tracks, club days, the techno ghost, & jitting to Jungle music. Hear all about that & much much more as we also get treated to an hour mix of absolute fire.
