Ezines stand out for their captivating live performances, setting themselves apart from the conventional DJ and producer scene. They skillfully utilise analog instruments to sculpt intricate grooves, channeling the essence of classic progressive, house, and breakbeat sounds. Influenced by the likes of Daniel Avery and Andrew Weatherall, they seamlessly blend chuggy indie vibes with the energy of rave dance music. Despite only entering the scene last year, they've swiftly risen through the ranks and show no signs of slowing down.

Tune in for an electrifying hour as Ezines deliver a live set featuring their own released and unreleased original tracks, alongside selections from fellow producers they've encountered on their journey.

''The Concealed Club Manifesto project pays homage to the mid 2000s underground UK club music scene, an era of music which acts as well of inspiration and creativity for the Nouveau Monica, and has no doubt helped shaped his sound. For the French producer, the UK club scene holds a special allure and mystique, especially since he observed this phenomenon from afar, and was idealized as one of the most “pivotal” moments in underground club culture, making it seem intangible, hence concealed. Nouveau Monica’s sound palette is deeply rooted in the UK scene, which he combines with his own personal musical background. This mid 2000s UK club sound is what the producer defines as his “Golden Era” and the genres created during that time are the building blocks of the Concealed Club Manifesto EP.

The last iteration of “See The Light”comes from none other than Hodge himself. A club tailored cut with a heavy groove, pattered with percussive elements, followed by sun drenched melody and sweltering pads that unleash into a a bellowing bass track, perfectly suited for peak sunset hours at a day rave an unforgiving Soundsystem.''

CUPRA takes over our Local Selection Mix Series with the five finalists from their ‘On The Pulse’ DJ Competition, which is aimed to assist in developing the next generation of Irish talent. Rising artists Aldar Agd, Brawni, Charlois, Cian Bolger, and RJ THE DJ join our mix series with their dynamic mix submissions.

CUPRA‘s On The Pulse DJ competition has reached its final stages, and five finalists have emerged from a mountain of high-quality local DJ mixes from entirely emerging artists, highlighting the incredible amount of talent developing from the Emerald Isle. With a big bank of mixes to filter through, our industry-chosen judging panel had a difficult and strenuous task, but ultimately 5 finalists emerged and submitted their mixes to the Local Selection Mix.

With releases on community label Cloudcore and support from UK mystery duo Two Shell, Brawni has established himself as one of the most exciting and forward-thinking electronic music composers in Ireland and beyond. Brawni, who frequently incorporates his Octatrack and synthesisers into his productions and live videos, has secured funding for a live hardware improvisation concept called ‘Hardware’, which will feature four different live artists performing back-to-back for four hours of live innovation and invention across a variety of DIY spaces. Brawni’s is a testament to the artist’s dedication to creating unforgettable sonic experiences.

TEETHY has a brand new release landing next week and jammed full of killer dancefloor heaters. Talented electronic musician, producer, and remix artist Niklas Wiik, professionally known as Reginald, drops 4  amazing tracks on his release titled NEVER ENDING VIBE. 

In 2022, Reginald released his career-changing debut album ‘Why Can’t We All Be Friends’, which featured collaborations with a global range of artists including Wongo, Steve Darko, Danny Goliger and GetCosy, to name but a few.

 

Reginald’s versatility and range as an artist is evident in his diverse body of work, which covers various styles including heavy pounding techno, bass-driven tech house, breaks, garage, and electro. He describes his sound as “addictively groovy, seriously not so serious with beautiful moments of relief and respectfully energetic.” He draws inspiration from the UK’s garage scene, Chicago club style, Detroit electro, Berlin techno, and old school breaks, as he believes that “sound is limitless, so why should anyone keep it simple?”
