Imagine a young alien kid, 6 years of age, main character of a sci-fi movie right? Well his planet was just destroyed, and is now riding in a small spacecraft where only 7 of his kind remain alive, including his mother. They fear for their lives as they attempt to escape from the artillery being fired from the evil invaders who's ships are closing in on them. The ship rocks from side to side and alarms sound as one of the rockets impacts one side, then the other. Smoke fills the spacecraft. They all read the impending doom in each others eyes knowing that this is the end. The captain looks in the direction of our hero who sits completely still with fear and then looks at the only functioning escape pod. His mother takes notice of the captains plan and lets out an ear piercing scream so terrifying, you couldn't tell if it was the smoke filling her lungs or the fear of losing the one thing she thing she has left. Without a moment of hesitation the captain activates the escape pod doors as the mother attempts to fight with the captain until... a rocket makes contact with their main thrusters, disabling acceleration. His mother picks up the boy one last time, places him inside the pod and shuts the tempered glass door. Our hero, still frozen in fear, locks eyes with his mother realizing this will be the last time he sees her. "Momma!" He yells banging on the glass. She says nothing, but rests one hand gently on the glass and one over her heart. In an attempt to hold back the tears she stops, smiles and nods to him. "Momma please!" he begs. She waves goodbye as the escape pod's engine roars and sends the child into the depths of space at high speeds. For a brief moment, everything is quiet, until the reflection of the glass shows an explosion behind him. The boy now realizing he is all alone in the universe quietly sobs to himself. Camera cuts to a wide shot of the pod entering the solar system and the brake thrusters engaging as it flies in a direct course with a bright blue planet it's inhabitants call: Earth.
