Music has always been a real passion for SRS.  Early Electro and Acid House lead him into the realms of the Rave Scene from 1988 - 1993 and the world of Pirate Radio Stations. From there he developed a love for Electronic Music. Deep House, Progressive House, Organic House, Melodic House, with a bit of Techno and Ambient thrown in.

As Eddie Amador said "Not everyone understands House music...it's spiritual thing, a body thing, a soul thing".

Respect to all those 'Smart Boys' out there!

"This mix is all about one epic journey my wife, son and I embarked on when we visited the mighty USA.

And so, my journey begins...in an RV the size of a small house!
We left Monterrey and headed down Route 1 bound for Pismo Beach and Carpinteria. Blue skies and glorious sunshine followed us on our month road trip to some of the most amazing places I have ever seen. Off the bay came the Humpbacks and Orcas…absolutely breathtaking. Watching the surfers catch their ride with the Pelicans flying low over the waves, while the sun starts its journey downward…mesmerising. 

The tracks in this mix have a deep organic feel with the warmth of a lazy, hazy summer's day and remind me of that wonderful journey. After leaving the coast and heading into the mountains, we stopped off at Yosemite, Kings Canyon, and Sequoia, which leads me in nicely to say that one of the tracks is aptly called ‘Sequoia’ by Mango Cult (Mass Digital Remix). You cannot do a trip like this and not be affected spiritually.
The USA will always have a special place in my heart, and I always get a longing to go back. The first track is one of my all-time favourites called ‘Emotions Electric’ by A Guy Called Gerald. I could listen to this track on repeat and never get tired of it.

I think that music is the only thing that can change everything. I believe that music can change what people do, how they think and feel, and how they do things. Music can help and change a person…even heal. I’ve listened to so many hours of music, and I know that it can make your day when you are feeling low. I know that music can change how you think or feel, because there are some songs I only listen to when I am sad, mad…happy or trying to concentrate. 

Every piece of music has its own personality and its own place in time.  My belief formed simply by listening to music almost all the time and realising the power of it. It is connected to all emotions because music can influence all emotions. When I put a mix together, I feel that I’m sculpting and shaping a journey from all these wonderful sounds that I have in front of me, and I hope that the listener feels this too. Without music the world would be a silent and dark place.

SALAZAR (COL) - Raabata [South America Avenue]

Adham Zahran isn’t just another name in house music, he’s one of those producers who seems born to it. Hailing from Egypt and growing up in Alexandria, young Adham began his musical journey listening to lots of minimal and house before learning production and music theory. His sound is steeped in an affection for house in all its shades and his musical influences resonate mainly from the Detroit culture and sound. Artists like Kyle Hall, Theo Parrish and Marcellus Pittman.

Tracktober 002: “Dr. Strawberries and Cream” — Funky Nudisco in D Minor 123BPM

Day 2 of my Tracktober challenge 🎃 — every day this month I’m writing and posting a track sketch. These are works-in-progress (WIP), not finished mixes (I only put max 2 hours into each one!) — the goal is to practice showing up daily, experiment with new ideas, and share the creative process openly instead of waiting until everything is “perfect.”

• Concept: Start with a fun bass line and buiid from there (instead of drums)
• What I practiced: Melodic and harmonic composition. How to improvise and build melodies and harmonies. I also tinkered with the Arturia instrument plugin and made my synths a bit warmer sounding 
• Imperfections: The highs sound way overbalanced to me (which is sort of OK because the mixing isn’t done!), and i wish i had more time to elaborate on the melodies with runs and fun stuff. It definitely has legs as a dance track, and I think more time could definitely put it there.
• Influences: No joke? Carly Rae's Loneliest Time and intros to Kim Petras and Dua Lipa tracks...DON’T DRAG ME!
