Deniro, real name Reynier, has been working his way onto the collective radar of late with a raft of releases under Tape Records and more recently Nina Kraviz’s трип. You’ll find traces of him everywhere from your favourite DJ’s set to the name ‘Dekmantel’ (he came up with it). His praxis takes dubby and high-tempo form, something analogous to 90s Detroit, conjuring up a flurry of cascading kicks and phantom beeps now second nature. Here, Reynier weaves together only his own hallmark tracks and as yet unreleased works for Bassiani Podcast 113, a spellbinding two-hour mix by one of Holland’s finest acts.

Chami and OPH are a part-time double act with roots in Lyon and a more recent base in Berlin. Fully integrated in their local scene, the pair have expanded their love of records to furtive raves on the outskirts of town (Minijob). Under the moniker Face 2 Face they play very literally one in front of the other, with a four turntable, two mixer set up, dogged passion and a little faith that kismet will devise whatever sound it may. A mirror framework that cultivates subconscious dialogue between the two and their crowd by extension  Together they proffer a world that’s as stimulating as it is fast-paced; it’s deep, repetitive, ritualistic techno with a magnetic pull that’s hard to deny, at once cerebral and groovy. This twin flame has lit up floors from Paris’ La Station to Tokyo’s Womb, with a Bassiani performance back in October. Here, for a very special Bassiani Podcast 215, the duo band together once more and tell a 90 minute tale that twists and turns in unexpected ways, one that’s every bit the raw and potent sound they’re known for. Formidable techno that’s quick as a flash and doesn’t waste a second messing around.

Elegant and dynamic, his productions sit halfway deeply organic, atmospheric blends and a further steely, hi-velocity strain of techno. Mind-bending by nature, his mixes open a wide window into a pulsating headspace, rife with ebullient bass drive and obsessive loops, constantly pushing the envelope of danceable material as we know it. Tailored to emphasize the impact of a limited number of components rather than drowning his listener under an avalanche of sonic stimuli, HI-C unleashes a storm of painstakingly textured layers and ripping melodic stabs. Bringing together minimalism with soul is an art, and HI-C is an absolute master at that.
