As the sun sets over the crater on the 3rd day of Hopkins Creek.
I perch in the Planetarium tent, a space assisting for meditation, reflection, calmness, togetherness & a bit of a dance if you so will.
Jack tells me "Feel free to not play ambient music if you want".
My interpretation of music presented here was put together on the fly, it is in my eyes, uplifting, hopeful, joyful & tender. 
A warm hug shared between friends over the course of the three days.
Special life-long memories.

The three letters on everybody’s lips - her rapid rise speaks to the incredible array of sounds you can associate with nak, building a portfolio of gigs, festival appearances and mixes that even in a short space of time are each as adored as they are plentiful. We’ve been lucky enough to have her grace a party, and it was only right we play our part in adding to the Nak treasure trove with her contribution to the mix series. Dive in 🌊

Neurocrank Mix: Nak

Seán is a Melbourne based dj and a member of the mix and events series Manifestation. 

In his sets Seán tries to hone in on a narrative, often underpinned by organic, glitchy productions intertwined with stripped back, unstable rhythms.

The narrative for Nebuleuse was inspired by the modern day fable “The Mysteries” by Bill Watterson. It begins with bleak and mysterious soundscape, broken by an ethereal realisation. The pace of the mix hurtles forwards from here, despite warnings, starting bright and hopeful before mutating towards a forewarned dark finish.

Daniel Oliverius, otherwise known as "@udmo", is a local producer and DJ with several compositions on Melbourne label @analogueattic.

The talented young artist is heavily influenced by music from the 1990's: a time of experimental production techniques, textural soundscapes and playful melodies. As such, this mix consists primarily of tracks from old ambient and downtempo CDs produced by artists such as The Bionaut and New Composers. Interspersed throughout the mix are delightful field recordings captured from a winter weekend away in Kangaroo Ground. 

Currently Daniel is experimenting with producing more club-orientated music, so be sure to keep an ear out for exciting things to come.
