Asha is a dynamic new album by AO Music that includes several guest artists from around the globe, children’s voices from Tibet, and of course, AO Music’s unique, hybrid approach to world music. “Asha” is a Hindi word for hope, and the songs on the album are full of pan-cultural roots and contemporary elements that are typical of Richard Gannaway’s production style. Miriam Stockley’s vocal arrangements are captivating as always, and the guest performers are some of World Music’s finest talent.

According to the mythology of Kuzhebar people SHU KHUR - 
is the Guide which one could get in the process of the painful initiation. This guide directs the person towards strong, pure and purposeful life. 
In different sources SHU KHUR is also the spirit of groundwater and it's usually depicted as a water bird or a woman with the bird attributes.

AO Music, (also known as AO) is a pan-cultural World music group, known for an exotic blend of ethnic texture, rhythmic energy and ambient harmony. Their compositions employ melodic refrains, sung by Miriam Stockley (acclaimed solo artist, and voice of Karl Jenkins' Adiemus), and children’s choral ensembles from around the globe. Song refrains are typically sung in a mixture of ancient languages or made-up phonetics, so as not to pay allegiance to a particular ethnicity; thereby lending to a more universal impression. Each song is composed, produced and performed by three well established recording artists; founder Richard Gannaway, Jay Oliver and Miriam Stockley. Since the Spring of 2000, the group has produced four albums on their own indie label Arcturian Gate (established in 1996), with their latest album, Asha, slated for an April 7th 2017 release. AO Music produces the sound using a blend of live acoustic instruments and digital samples that cover a broad range of world indigeny, mixed with contemporary elements.
