This August, it has been two years since launching the first iteration of the 9128.live 24/7 streaming site + app. 

We didn’t know back then, that the additional live weekend takeovers would be such an escape for us all during the lockdowns and a way to connect, keep a small community together and discover even more new music. But they ended up becoming some of our fondest memories over the past two years. So we’ll be celebrating this milestone with another marathon takeover on August 20th. 

Stay locked in on web, or app, and load up on sleep; the weekend lineup will take us back-to-back over 70hrs, with ambient, experimental, synth and deep techno, DJ, Live and Hybrid sets, curated by good friends and label partners of 9128.live, who have been with us since the beginning.

At the end of this summer, we welcome a friend of the channel, Seb Alcachofa ; he is a Paris-based artist and promoter, who has been active in the scene for over 10 years now. He frequently organizes open air events, as well as club nights and played in many venues of the French capital. Through these Dance Under events, Seb Alcachofa is looking to support young labels of the ambient and techno scene, creating ties between artists and delivering quality music to his audience.

Stellar Series Episode 61 - Alcachofa (Endless Summer)

It is with great pleasure that we present to you the 100th edition of the Forsvarlig Podcast Series. To celebrate this point in time together, we want to honour the past 6 years of efforts by all the artists and kick in the next phase of Forsvarlig. 

That’s why we’re very excited to have received lots of new and unreleased music from artists that contributed to the prior 99 episodes. From this generous package, a selection has been blended under the moniker of FORS that showcases the wide range of electronics we were so lucky to share with you all in the past years.

Over these years we like to think that the series mixed the bigger names with the stars of tomorrow, but above all, present every artist’s distinct spirit. To be able to feature this assembly of artists has been a huge inspiration for us, and it still is. A big thank you to all artists and listeners.

When you are halfway there, you may find that you have spent more than half the time and effort you planned to invest to reach your goal, and darkness may appear at this point. If this happens, think that the investment in time and effort is not usually linear to progress and that the beginnings almost always take more than the time we had budgeted.

But you know what? That you can get it, you just have to remember why you started and so you can achieve it.

Joan Gila is the curator of HOC radio (@hoc-radio) and half of the Binomi (@binomi) project. For this mix he tells us: “I have always thought that the dubtechno does not have to be dark or that the idea can be turned a bit. Dubtechno relaxes me a lot and I can see bright and major tones".

Definitely, it's a matter of putting light to darkness.

Probably one of my most personal pieces — it reflects on a time I was bedridden with a severe illness. I remember this room with a window where light would pour in around noon, bringing a strange sense of peace. I’ve tried to capture that feeling in this track. I hope it resonates with you.

Lux Tenebris (meaning ‘Light in Darkness’) is a blend of contemporary dark and ambient electronica with classical overtones. The work evolves towards the climax of 'eternal return', where the light returns. 

Cinematic and richly layered — evoking both shadow and illumination. Exploring how light and darkness shape our lives. I was interested in capturing the luminescence of life and the idea that beauty can be found even in the darkest places. 

Originally composed for a dance work of the same name in 2016 by choreographer Rafael Bonachela, commissioned by Sydney Dance Company.
