Throughout the next superb hypnotic and captivating musical adventure, you’ll notice a visible row of trees with widely spread branches (sounds) seemingly in the middle of the wilderness forest. As we delve deeper, wetter, and dimly lit areas, we note that these trees would become obviously asymmetrical as the branches (sounds) grew toward the sunny side (bright/encouraging/promising beats) and away from the shaded side (obscure/dusky/murky beats). Definitely, a well crafted mix full of powerful sounds, hidden messages and moods that create deep positive impacts. Undoubtedly the forest is an incalculable source of wealth that contributes to the integral development of society.

La ‘escucha atenta’ (attentive listening) represents above all paying attention and concentrating on what is being heard. It requires a willingness to follow the reasoning of what is being told. The listener does nothing more than that: listen, interpet and understand. It is essential that the message is cordially accepted by the listener, as it is, creating a context of closeness and trust that facilitates the exchange of ideas from those who need to express themselves.

From a glacial surrounding, completely isolated and with nothing more than the blizzard strumming. An introspection from the deepest edges of oneself through the ascension to the clouds. A continuum of imaginary mental antonyms from cold / hot, human / non-human, good news / bad news, brightness / darkness, peace / war, freedom / slavery, antiquity / modernity, security / insecurity, gentleness / ferocity, looseness / tenseness…are just some of the crossroads we had when we listened to Alfonso’s storyline.

A brief but comprehensive summary of almost a decade of Iker’s music research/discography. Some tracks have been published previously, others have remained on his hard drive for years for various reasons. Iker says-’I think that the podcast format gave rise to being able to publish these songs in another type of framework, different from the album, and in which I think they fit well’-. 

In terms of tools, many songs are based on guitar + effects + loops, the newest ones have a drum machine and synthesizer in addition to guitar, and in the case of the 2 songs that belong to the album of “sesiones acústicas” published in RONF in 2009, he changed the guitar for a piezoelectric microphone. 

Being more than a musician, Iker also makes his own electronic devices (IOHM Fx) which aim is to facilitate interactions between humans and organized sound. Providing a genuine channel for expression and helping to expand the boundaries of sound manipulation.

A superb representation of noise and distortion in an elegant and classy manner to provide listeners with a clear view of what Iker has researched throughout the years and the corresponding conclusions.
