@nozagam is a solo project by French experimental-club producer Etienne Zastko who takes a bleak view of a destructive Anthropocene Epoch, in which “utopias can’t exist and we’ve lost our way in our blind devotion to technology”. The album pieces together a chronology of catastrophic events. A fictionalized soundtrack to humankind’s end-cycle. The abrasive textures and suffocating atmosphere immerse us into a total universe where everything that could have gone wrong has. Affirmations and tech bro optimism didn’t quite cut it. And if those disembodied voices that sporadically reach out are the survivors, that’s not good news.

The visual aesthetic of Zagam is one of fusion, a medieval plague doctor mask with a 23rd-century twist. “Anthropocene” mines a similarly disparate set of influences, spanning an evermore hybridized clubspace. Gqom, grime, industrial techno, footwork: everything is fair game. The rich musical background and hard sonic palette of Zagam make for a perfect match for the hybrid electronics approach of Unizone.

Sueuga (she/her) @sueuga is a Mexican artist, DJ, and producer known for her releases on pivotal labels such as NAAFI, Hiedrah, Salviatek, Sacrilejio, Soul Feeder, Arboretum, and Precious Metals among the others. Now based in Amsterdam but raised in Oakland, California where she started her music career by collaborating with artists from the Neoperreo scene, Sueuga has been an important actress in the contemporary scene thanks to her experimental, mutant club outings primarily inspired by industrial music and dominated by unsettling atmospheres, ferocious drums, and abrasive textures. We’re very excited to announce the release of her new “Conflict Areas” EP that will be out on Friday, February 16th. 

The 5-tracker opens up with a short and eerie introduction called “Dragged” which indeed abruptly drags the listener into a perilous sound journey composed of explosive rhythmic discharges that also extend to the second and third tracks, the titular “Conflict Areas” and “Heat Therapy”. Thanks to its extensively variegated yet immediately accessible and catchy compositions, Sueuga’s awe-inspiring work manages to summon dark, infernal scenarios while also envisioning bright futures of long-awaited victory, offering a commentary on the existential struggle of unconditionally and wholeheartedly affirming one’s existence in turbulent, oppressive times. With its sense of unavoidable and relentless tension, the entire EP is an act of belligerent resistance in sound form.

The two final tracks host collaborations with the founder of the overmybody.tw label, Taipei-based DJ and producer B E N N @bedoublensound, and Duma’s noise/metal experimental musician Sam Karugu, respectively. While the first one (“Hidden Fees”) indulges into the heavy-hitting, cadenced percussive progressions previously shown in the rest of the EP (and here enriched by deep, bursting basslines and a ghastly melody), the latter (“MMXXIII”) provides a free-form anthem for all the metalheads where rumbling distortion and eerie vocals meet incessant lamentations and gurgling noise in the background.

Carlo Alberto Madoglio aka st.grimes is a musician, producer and multidisciplinary artist based in Milan (IT). With Eurosport, debut EP and first contribution to Austrian label Ashida Park, st.grimes took us on the perfect polyrhythmic journey by synthesizing all his influences into a genre-bending release. His latest productions, SOLO CON TE and High Speed Eurostar, are filled with nods to abandoned rave and eurodance sounds and an obsessive attention to fast percussions. They look inward while inviting the listener to disregard any genre-defining listening conventions.

Since 2021 his music has appeared on labels and platforms such as Pitchfork, Boiler Room, NTS, Rinse FM, C.T.M, Ashida Park, Fritto Fm, Dublab, Fact Magazine, among others. He shared the stage around Europe with some of the most celebrated contemporary electronic acts like CRRDR, Miss Jay, Nahshi, EL PLVYBXY, Rattlesnakke, Ice Eyes, Vibrisse, etc.

ENDLESS, his latest single, was released by Estonian based record label and event series: Shelter

The track is featured in the label’s latest compilation Mizgîn along with productions by Emma dj, Brodinski, Swan Meat, Bungalovv, Nahash and many more.
