Therym is an original orchestral suite composed for full symphonic forces, exploring a wide palette of textures, colors, and rhythmic energy. Scored for winds, brass, percussion, harp, and full strings, the work showcases a deliberate engagement with orchestral tradition while carving out its own voice through tightly woven motifs and layered instrumentation.

The suite is marked by a consistent forward momentum, largely driven by rhythmic figures — particularly triplets and syncopations — that recur in various instrumental combinations. The orchestration reflects a clear understanding of instrumental capabilities, with thoughtful deployment of coloristic elements such as glockenspiel, vibraphone, and muted brass, adding a bright, modern sheen to the otherwise traditionally structured writing.

Rather than adhering to rigid classical forms, Therym opts for a more episodic, cinematic structure. The music progresses organically, relying on shifts in timbre and texture to guide the listener. While not experimental in its harmonic language, the suite maintains interest through dynamic contrasts and sectional interplay.

That said, the piece does play it somewhat safe in certain respects. It favors density and volume over moments of restraint or silence, and while technically sound, the emotional contour could be deepened. Some sections risk feeling overwrought or overly saturated, where a sparser or more lyrical touch could have provided contrast and nuance.

Nevertheless, Therym stands as a confident and competently orchestrated work. It’s well-suited for performance, and reflects a composer in command of large ensemble writing, with room to continue developing a more distinct and emotionally resonant voice.

Lee is a gifted musician hailing from Clewiston, Florida, who first gained prominence in the 1990s as part of the hip-hop duo Straight Coffee For George with friend Antonio “T-Lyfe” Humphrey. He later formed The Square Egg, known for blending hip-hop, funk, jazz, and soul, earning recognition in Miami and New York. As a solo artist, Lee played renowned venues in New York and Buenos Aires, releasing albums like "Naked" (2010), "Reasons To Buy This Album" (2014), and "2+2=5" (2017). His 2022 album, "Maybe Now," was a lush musical journey influenced by his life in Argentina. His latest release, "The Reprieve," is his most ambitious to date - featuring a dizzying array of world-class musicians, performing majestic arrangements of Lee's unique, heartfelt compositions. One of the most beautifully arranged pieces from The Reprieve is the apocalyptic love song "Still" - that first captures the ear with its lush, intoxicating rhythm, while delivering an underlying sentiment of love in the ruins, and love's ultimate survival. The EP presented here features four distinctly unique mixes of the track - and as a bonus, also includes the previously unreleased track, "12th Of Never,” which is exclusive to this release.

The hype for the new Sonic Forces game is unreal and being a mild sonic fan myself, I decided to join the hype by creating my own orchestral cover of the song "Fist Bump". I also sneaked in the Sonic victory fanfare as I think it sounds awesome and it fits so well in this song. As you know, or will come to know, a technique I often use in my music is including melodies from other songs and changing the mood to it to fit the song. When I first listened to Fist Bump, I was just sat there thinking how well the Sonic victory fanfare would go with Fist Bump (as well as how much it sounded like an OP anime opening XD), so I took the liberty of including that melody in this cover. This song was done in 7 straight hours and was definitely a lot of fun to do especially with the word-builder feature for the choir vst I have in Fl Studio 12 however since I only have a demo version, I had to keep reloading the plugin I was using which was slightly bothersome, but overall did not come close to ruining the experience XD
