And even if AMR wanted to cancel this plan, it wouldn't be possible as he has himself, and a family to feed in a big cruel place like this; Rapture. So instead of losing money, he loses himself and adapts. "

" Narcissus has AMR progress into the story going through the cruel world trying to focus solely on himself and his family. AMR hears the people of Rapture speaking of religions and the temptation most have given in to these days. Moving on without placing any belief in God, he attracts the attention of Ibalees, the Devil herself. Expecting a man or something beyond humanity, AMR is intrigued and surprised by what the Devil turns out to be. As the Devil herself asks AMR to put his ego to the side. Humans are but a mere speck in the face of the universe. AMR continues to guide himself through this moment, telling himself that you can either believe or not believe. There is no in between. AMR agrees that humans think highly of themselves. Ibalees continues to express the gifts offered by her to mere mortals to let them indulge. AMR no longer wishes to listen. He is an atheist and there is no explanation to help guide him. With new knowledge and awareness, he admits to her that humans will lead ourselves to our own demise. But until then, he does not wish to speak to her. AMR leaves. "

AMR has noticed the world is taking a new turn, its getting colder and a new kind of depression lingers with AMR as his new shadow. No matter what AMR does he cant seem to find happiness. He also speaks on being in a relation finally but cheating by not staying around the woman he loves, or having something else on his mind. Relationships aren't suppose to work but AMR cant help thinking about the decay about to come. He believes breeding might just help us out of this fix if we were to ever fall short. But AMR is not certain if humans are really evolving or going backwards. Waiting for a natural way for the world to decay, he notices humans are putting destruction on fast forward. It might just come quicker than expected. AMR continues to live with his depression not being able to help himself. Making a final wish to death before his end. "
