The inspiration for this song came from Vindicate Me by Big Giant Circles. You should go check out his stuff: it's great. 

Hub Swagrid: Questing At Midnight

Inspired by the OST from the original Neon Genesis: Evangelion - in particular, the tracks called "'Spending Time In Preparation' and 'Decisive Battle'.

When I was initially writing the guitar parts, I was also listening to a lot of Deathcore and Within the Ruins - so there's shades of that in there, too. 

Some audio samples from Asuka's final battle were also used.
