True craftsmanship, as in so many of your compositions. You do know how to make a bed for listeners in your soundscapes A. To stay in - long.

The closer you look, the more details, the more new insights, but also contradictions, you discover in apparent clarity. Shoreline is a good metaphor for the infinity that surrounds us and resides within us. And the same applies to the song you wrote for it: At first, it seems clear and simple, like the geometry of a mandala or the image of a Mandelbrot set. And the deeper and more often you delve into the structure, the more infinite and hypnotic it seems. Truly very well done.

Her voice is captivating for such well-chosen words, and your music describes her message perfectly.

So beautiful. I really felt like I was on the beach while listening to this. 🏖🌊👏🎶🎵🎼

Ce titre, composé en collaboration avec Myckaël Marcovic (paroles)https://soundcloud.com/myckael-marcovic/tracks, se veut un hymne à la liberté. Le refrain, à lui seul et magnifiquement écrit,  nous permet de comprendre l’essence du propos de ce titre et de ce que veut  dire le mot liberté. La musique, un peu rock, est allégée par des vents qui rappellent les belles années du groupe Chicago.

This title, composed in collaboration with Myckaël Marcovic (lyrics), is intended as an hymn to freedom. The chorus, in itself and beautifully written, allows us to understand the essence of the purpose of this title and what the word freedom means. The music, a bit rock, is lightened by winds that remind of the beautiful years of the group Chicago.
CHORUS:
We can't imprison the wind... coming from the west or the 'levant' (french word for east, sunrise).
I have always been anchored... to the wings of freedom.

I think this is the one where I used a classic soul progression. The packaging at the start that imitates a DJ scratch rhythm came when I accidentally touched a mi goreng pack of noodles around the mic and it fit so I used that. The stop start is influenced by ‘I Try’ by Macy Grey. Then a trademark 4 layers of cello for the chorus. It’s 4 layers cos that’s how I get the cellos to have enough power that I want. First time doing a vocal ’staccato’ sort of chorus like ‘Work Song’ by Hozier which is my fave Hozier song cos’ maybe I’ve overplayed ‘Take Me to Church.’ At the end a brief bit of funk. I remember trying something more complex but the classic James Brown sort of funky riff worked better so I used that.  The second verse is influenced by the production of ‘Hold On’ by Bishop Briggs with the claps. Then, a neopolitan chord for the bridge.  The last chorus has the 2nd chord flattened like ‘Imperfect For you’.  Also a harmonic minor scale being played by the synth lead which reminded me a bit of Just Like You Imagined by NIN. So we’re not lyrically referencing 300 anymore but musically referencing it. The horns are a new addition which I did just based on … what I thought might sound good. The verses/bridge are new but the chorus is from last year. Oh yeah I did reference FNM's Ricochet for the bridge. King for a Day is Spiderman's fave FNM record. Should just hired as a consultant when their biographies are due. Correcting people like, "nah it was a sunny day when that event happened." Yes, the weather is important. Details are important.

Speaking of mi goreng which I discovered in my 1 year of boarding school in Australia. “I do hope my overpriced education doesn’t offend you.” I remember looking at it and thinking it was strange that it had no broth. Then, tasting it and going “ this is amazing.” It’s wonderful how an Indonesian noodle brand has gained popularity in Australia. Other than that, I do miss the meat pies and Shapes (they are a good snack). It was also at boarding school that I discovered Meri lewa which was played once a week by the PNG boys.

Snowman

Being musician and artist "since ages", the last two decades and all the developments in digital music broadened my interests and activities in doing music actively and passively. Not being shy of any genre (OK, leave off some Punk and Extreme Metal derivates) I engage in composing, arranging, mixing and collaborating. 

Oh, and I do all my artwork and designs as well. And as you may notice I regard AI as a friendly helper.

Have a few looks & listens into my repertoire and eventually gain some insights. I'm always open for collabs if the the interests match ...
