The Battle of the Champions, a highly anticipated fight between Stephen Fulton and Naoya Inoue. Two of the best pound-for-pound boxers on earth. According to British Boxing News, "Inoue is the more powerful puncher, but Fulton is the more skilled boxer."

Initially set for May 7 until Inoue suffered an injury during training, the fight was pushed to July 25, Yokohama Arena, Tokyo, Japan. If Inoue's home country has an advantage. Stephen Fulton says, "I believe in my ability, and I know that I can beat Inoue. I am going to Japan to win, and I am not coming back without the belts." 

Fulton, the WBC and WBO super-bantamweight champion, a cadent, powerful puncher, elusive with good footwork, 8 of his 21 wins, knockouts. Eddie Hearn, Matchroom Boxing said "it's a 50-50 fight. I could see Fulton winning by decision or Inoue winning by knockout."

Inoue is the Former undisputed bantamweight champion, going up to the super-bantam weight division to win the WBA, IBF, and The Ring super-bantamweight champion titles. He is an aggressive fighter with devastating power. Technically-Knocked-Out 21 of his 22 opponents. Dan Rafael of ESPN giving, "Inoue is the better fighter and I think he will win. He is more powerful and has a better chin."

Ben Thapa’s take from BoxingScene.com: "Fulton is a very good boxer and he has a lot of advantages in terms of size and reach. However, Inoue is a very special fighter and he has the power to knock Fulton out." 

Who lands the big shot to unify WBC and WBO titles!?! Both fighters are undefeated, Fulton 21-0 and Inoue 22-0. Chris Mannix for DAZN: "I think Fulton has the speed and movement to give Inoue problems, but I think Inoue's power is going to be too much."



Steve Kim, ESPN, "I think Fulton has a good chance to win if he can keep Inoue off balance and avoid his power shots. But if Inoue lands his shots, it could be a short night for Fulton." To a country notorious for jingoistic murders, gender-based violence and load-shedding. The announced availability of power during South Africa’s Public Holiday Woman's Day. Anniversary of the “great women's march.” Remembering 9 August 1956, almost 20,000 women marched to the Union Buildings in Pretoria to protest against apartheid government laws.

Eskom, established in 1923, is a company in charge of electricity. The workload was light during apartheid, they only had to cater to a white minority. Problems started when they had to provide electricity to +60 million people.

2009 the first time load-shedding was declared. Since then, a daily probability timetable scheduling random electricity cuts nationwide. How many times, how long, between stages one and eight? Stages allow power stations to share electricity available across the country. 

Countless cases of theft, sabotage, and corruption, beneficiaries and competitors plaguing load-shedding. Presidentially declared national crisis responsible for the economy collapsing. Stages worsened by disputes in fossil fuel and green energy policies. mixed with local and international politics. Some court cases won, but few arrests. 

Marches protest how load-shedding is a crime - no solidarity like women in 1956. I write this expecting my electricity cut at midnight when Eskom ends the suspension. No Woman’s Day event to celebrate feminism safe yet. I doubt we give Load-shedding a public holiday in the future.

Double jabs get Fulton off balance circled to the ropes, he’ll double his jabs defending. By Rd 8, hurt every time open, left hook knock down through the bottom rope. Fulton stands up beating the count, but soon referee Hector Afu calls for stoppage at 1:14, TKO.

Terence Bud Crawford vs. Erroll Truth Spence Jr. decider for WBO, WBA, WBC & IBF welterweight world titles. Round 1, Spence was throwing jabs - keeping Crawford's hands guarding. Rd 2, Crawford counters with a left hook combination to knock down Spence.

Superior skills outclass, when counting punches by Rd 5, The Truth has touched Bud’s face 24 times, compared to 52 clinical punches on his forehead. In Rd 7, Spence gets knocked down, twice. Rd 10, the referee’s had enough and stops the fight. Crawford wins by TKO.

Crawford and Inoue, cement their places among the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world. It will be exciting to see what the undisputed champions do next.
