1 John 2:20 states that “we have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of us know the truth.” In the early months of 2011, Evan Waddy-Farr and Donte Skinner decided to take this known truth and join forces to form Anointed Punchlines. Both Evan and Donte hail from the Bronx, NY. Having been immersed in the artistic atmosphere of Hip-Hop from birth, Anointed Punchlines’ lyrics serve as Bible-based reactionary outlets that underlie the historical context of both Christianity and the culture itself. 

Anointed Punchlines defines themselves as a WorsHIP Hop duo whose focus is to appreciate and appropriate God’s truth already revealed. The group also strives to be actionable influences by making the Word of God clear in the daily thoughts & lives of all who hear their music, especially young people. The group has more than fifteen performances to date, which include ministering to the congregations of their home churches, for a huge crowd on the stage in front of the Adam Clayton Powell State Office Building in Harlem, NY, and in Atlanta, GA at Thy Kingdom Has Come International Ministries.
