Quintessence EP (13)
Quintessence – the essence of a thing in its purest and most concentrated form. 
Consisting of three completely divergent tracks - ranging from electro pop to house and techno, with as common denominator high energy and an uplifting mood – Rose Ringed’s latest EP embodies the concept of quintessence.

The first track, “Impossible Love”, tells the story of an impossible love, torturing the singer. Rose explains: “In many countries laws and cultures exist which are labeling same-sex love as a sin or even prohibiting it . To me, this is unbelievable. I wrote this song for everyone around the world that loves someone but can’t surrender oneself to that feeling because of culture, believe or laws. I incorporated uplifting sounds, since I believe we are heading into the right direction. Though slowly, but I’m convinced we’re getting there.”

The second track, “Forever Grooving”, taps exactly into what the title suggests: It grooves from start to end. Rose: “I was playing around with eight chords I wrote, until I dragged some audio clip wrongly and looped that part. Consequently, I discovered this insane groove. As many artists know, the best things appear by accident and that happened multiple times in this track.” As a jazz pianist, Rose loves to put solos into his tracks - despite these can be hard to fit in with dance music. Nevertheless, for this track it fits perfectly.

The third and final track, “How Do You Feel”, is the hardest to pinpoint to a single genre. The track has high energy and groovy beat. With its main lead – referring to Rose’s “What We Do For Love” - and its sensational chords, it is classic Rose Ringed track. A perfect peak time, euphoria blasting tune that is hard not to fist pump to.

The music by Yan Kruau & Michele Ottini was first released in 2017 on 60 tapes only. Subject To Restrictions Discs makes them available on vinyl for the first time. Very raw, somewhere between darkwave and electro with soundtrack elements, the 6 tracks on “L'ultimo Di Noi” explore a yet not so common musical world. This release is limited to 200 copies

Dear Friends,

We all know the terrible situation in Ukraine right now. People are losing their homes and innocent civilians are getting murdered. And all of this originates from conflicts of power the ordinary civilian is unaware of and cannot influence.  

The situation hits me so much that I had to do something about it. I Have become an artist to raise my voice and create awareness to address topics that come close to my heart and the Russian-Ukrainian war is such a topic. 

Since this is not the only terrible war in the world right now I wanted to create something with a broader perspective. I found a speech by Eugene V. Debs that got him jailed for 10 years. It summarizes perfectly what I think we all should be more aware of. 

I also want to address that we should be careful in depicting all Russians for a war most of them do not want. As Debs states so beautifully: “No war by any nation in any age has ever been declared by the people”.  
All the revenues proceeding from this record will be donated to Amnesty International which fights for the protection of human rights and is helping to fight war crimes in the Russian-Ukrainian war.

In the studio the red lights flickered abruptly upon the various machinery. He had spent decades collecting obscurities and instruments of fortune, the bits and bobs from behind the scenes that no man would risk their money upon. Now within his tiny room he spent every single night jamming away at the meandering hardware in a robust attempt to bring it all back to life. Few from the outside world were familiar with his methodology or plans but soon they would be at the mercy of his mind and matter. 

DJ OIL returns to the infamous Lddlm with a three track EP of weighty prominence and abstract electronics. It would be unjust to simply describe them as dancefloor orientated but they work bloody well. Seek and you will find.

On the heels of the success of Tin Man’s - S_MPL_HOUSE EP Shaddock is proud to welcome another true master for the label’s fifth release: J.T.C.

Originally produced for Tim Sweeny’s ‘Beats in Space’ radio show the title track was heard in one of J.T.C’s DJ sets during a night out in Berlin and was signed to Shaddock on the spot. Heavy on the synths with a stirring bass-line and a driving 808, ‘Beats In Space’ is destined to shake-up every dance-floor.

Stepping up for his first ever remix duty is no other than Madteo of Meakusma, Workshop or Joy Orbison’s Hinge Finger fame, who added his unique signature of twisted, hypnotic left-field house, aptly titling his re-work 'Mad in Space’.

On the flip J.T.C showcases his more melodic side as well as his versatility as a producer. ‘The First Night Cycle’, feat. Ellis Monk is a metabolic track clocking in at eight minutes developing over time, all the while under-laid with James T. Cotton’s ceaseless heavy grooves.

‘Love Canopy And Vessels’ finishes this little gem in the best Detroit/ Chicago house fashion.
