We had the chance to invite this legendary Techno DJ and producer from NY/Detroit to perform a special Ambient set, offering us a dreamy journey between atmospheric ambient, field recording, drone and experimental sounds - Enjoy!

Cloutier’s nature - one of zeal and infatuation towards the warm, dubby, hypnotic house and techno that has come to characterize his sound as well as his ability to bridge the gap between dance music’s past and its future.

Eric Cloutier’s standards are representative of the pre-social media craze and arguably the old adage of letting music speak for itself. Cloutier’s twenty-plus year commitment has been built upon his integrity as a DJ and authority as a selector. A self-described "record digging psychopath," one only has to refer to his mix of highly sought after cuts from Driftwood Records to see the lengths Cloutier will go to in order to procure the perfect selection. This is truly Cloutier’s nature - one of zeal and infatuation towards the warm, dubby, hypnotic house and techno that has come to characterize his sound as well as his masterful ability to bridge the gap between dance music’s past and its future.

An exception to the norm, Cloutier is not one to capitalize on his Detroit origins. Moving to New York in his 20’s, he became a regular face at The Bunker where he began to further define his innate style of body orientated music. Now situated in Berlin, where he often shows up behind the decks of niche alcoves as well as the world’s best clubs, Cloutier’s reputation as an unequivocal, dexterous force is increasingly becoming one of note. His talents as a producer have also been growing of late, with the establishment of his own imprint Palinoia, Greek for “the obsessive repetition of an act until it is perfected or mastered.” The label has become the new home and optimization for Cloutier’s evolving undertakings. Through Palinoia, Cloutier manages to further synthesize slick, dubby club music to slide into his DJ sets as well as feature lesser known talent he's discovered. He’s a DJ for whom quality - above all else - is the watchword.

Fitting words to accompany Rene Lorenzo’s forthcoming album on Kizen Records, titled ‘A Good Moment’. From start to finish, the Spaniard occupies a space that is hard to define. One that demands attention yet, gives space. Intricate, yet soothing and comforting on the ear. A wonderful combination that catches you in its embrace, ever so subtly.

Delirium Tremens, coming in as track 8 on the 10 track album evokes feelings of security, the exhale to a long inhale. The muted kicks, and melody provide a base from which to build. Nothing is overt, no element tries to stray from that base. Each and every voice meant to compliment, and coexist.

Rene Lorenzo’s album, ‘A Good Moment’ will be released out into the world on February 28th.

PREMIERE: Rene Lorenzo - Delirium Tremens [Kizen Records]

Musical paths twist and turn throughout life, one never knows where the next connection can come from. Like minded people, loving the same artform or creative form of expression makes for many a ‘friend at first sight’. After meeting Luca a few years ago at Mostra, we’ve had the opportunity to spend plenty of time dancing and chatting together, enjoying our favorite musical expression. As head of his E2-E8 label, the London based DJ and curator has crafted his own path with prior releases from fellow Delayed friends Avsluta, and hems to name a few.

To mark E2-E8’s first release of 2025, the responsibility goes to a founder of the Unknown Species Collective event and podcast series, Rado aka Naturalisten and his debut titled Forms. The 6 track release, including a remix by Forest Drive West, blends a few different musical styles. Acid, ambient, deep techno, breaks, all coming forth in a nicely varied release.

Against the Tide is a floaty number, with muted, upbeat melodies providing some sense of groove and a nice counter to the darker side of the release. These tones are complimented by a steady stream of shakers and hi-hats that deftly hit in the background but don’t overwhelm the mix of panned textures and occasional glittery synth.

Expect Forms to be out on the 25th of April in record stores, and on Bandcamp.

Deep underground there was little life. Water passed beneth the city in metallic chambers, pipework was the be all and end all to the success or failure of the country. Glamorous it was not. However, from time to time gatherers would enter the underworld for a little while, they would escape from what lay up above to find themselves down below amidst the soil and brickwork. Tunnels became places of escapism and the underground was alive with the sound of noise. 

Eletun Selona is set to release a new EP on Sewer Sender. An intriguing, understated EP which has a distinct sense of self and an experimental edge. One to watch perhaps.

Scrimshire’s highly anticipated third opus, “Bight”, exemplifies progressions made both as a singer-songwriter and producer, pushing forward from his acclaimed second album, “The Hollow”. It’s an album replete with references to one man’s love for the deep blue sea, songs about being adrift and conversely “Beached”.

Once again Scrimshire has hooked up with two of his favourite vocalists, Resonators front woman Faye Houston and long-time collaborator Stac, but it’s on this album that his voice really comes into its own. Scrimshire himself takes centre stage on vocal duties on the current single, “Convergent”, the melancholic “Drift” and haunting “Siren”, as well as dueting with Stac on the captivating “Beached” and with Faye on the rousing “Blister”.

It’s not only on the microphone that Scrimshire has raised the bar though – he single-handedly produced the whole album with a more electronic feel, touching on ambient and more dance floor sounds whilst still keeping in line with his soul , jazz and acoustic roots.

“Bight” will be launched live at The Old Queen’s Head, Islington on June 6th, followed by a mini UK tour and a host of festivals, including Soundwave Croatia and the Southern Soul Festival, Montenegro.
