Apollo House is a Chicago rock n roll band, and the brainchild of Ohio-born songwriter Joe Korbee. Following the recording of his unreleased solo album in early 2011 (that featured "Sweet Deceit" and "Cage"), Korbee began to put together a band of fellow Columbia College Chicago musicians with his demo.
A psychedelic blues rock trio was born early that summer, and by fall had blossomed into a four piece rock n roll band. After swopping a few members, and playing a rigorous schedule of shows in the Chicago area, the band has grown into the Apollo House you see today. The current lineup features Tom Graham on drums, Tyler Anselmo on guitars and backup vocals, Eddie "Machete" Sanchez on bass, and Joe Korbee on rhythm guitar and lead vocals.
With high energy performances, and a bevy of original blues rock compositions, the band has received praise and comparisons to Led Zeppelin, Black Crowes, The White Stripes, Jimi Hendrix, Wolfmother, Free, GFR, Black Keys, Audioslave, early Black Sabbath...and so on.
If you are seeing Apollo House live, you can expect to be satisfied by an original set packed to the gills with memorable melodies, hard hitting riffs, and raw rock energy by the gallon.
