I didn't record it at the party, but was able to re-create it thanks to rekordbox's history feature, and added a few tracks in the beginning and end to stretch it out.

A journey created very much in the moment, no planning whatsoever, for a beautiful group of wild Punatics at Space City for the third of Shon Escholada's Summer Saturday Sunset Series. This one starts with an ambient original composition I did with my friends Laura and Kirt of "Creative Frequencies" and Tyler Gibson of Birds of Paradise on wood flute, goes into a gorgeous psybass track by Hedflux, (layered a Tori Amos track on-top, briefly...  wasn't an easy mix!) then into some unique deep dubstep and bass music, then moves through downtempo organic, into Afro House with some unique broken beat stuff mixed in.  I like it.  The crowd liked it.  I hope you like it.

A great group of dancers to whom we served ceremonial raw cacao in freshly made coconut milk, were enthusiastically appreciative. A great long journey I took some friends on in the late hours of an intimate gathering near South Point of Big Island. Moved through a bunch of genres pretty quickly early on, and settled into a house groove for the second hour.  My one regret listening back was not spending more time in Drum & Bass...  I hit a peak, people were spinning fire, and I dropped out of it just too abruptly...  other than that, a gem of a set.

APOLLO SANTO is my DJ/producer alias. 

I DON'T NEED A SUGAR MAMMA, and I'M NOT INTERESTED IN PROMOTION. 

I'm an eccentric Hawaiian Kingdom immigrant with a long history in the electronic music world. 

Born, raised and living in New York City most of my life and known professionally by my given name Spiro, I was an early pioneer in the Long Island house, techno and breaks scene of the mid 1990's, releasing records on Caffeine, Definitive/Plus8, Grinning and my own label, I.M.U.R.Me Records.

Just before all that, I attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, where I studied film scoring. That passion has been reignited by the score for Dune Part 2, and I'm working on some new music that reflects that.

After forays into progressive rock and jam band music in the early 2000's, I was a founding member of Brooklyn’s legendary “Freek Factory”, resident DJ at Alex Grey’s Chapel of Sacred Mirrors in New York City, and shared stages with the likes of Bassnectar and The Glitch Mob long before they were selling out coliseums. 

Now pursuing my life-long interests in ethnobotany and alchemy on an isolated piece of land on the Big Island of Hawaii, I indulge friends with DJ performances and recorded mixes of the most emotive and richly musical organic, deep and tribal house, drum & bass, progressive psy, and other unique dance music I can find.
