V novém díle pravidelné série Mix měsíce se podíváme blíže na činnost malého DIY labelu Night School, který má svoji základnu v Glasgow. Label spravuje Michael Kasparis, jakožto jeho jediný člen. Svoji činnost odstartoval v roce 2011 a za tu dobu stihl vydat řadu zásadních alb, zejména v rámci hudebních žárnů darkwave a synth pop. Mezi nejznámější z nich patří například nahrávky od Terror Bird, Julia Holter, Love Cult nebo Molly Nilsson. Specifickou kategorii pak zastává vinyl od The Space Lady, jejíž hudební minulost se datuje do sedmdesátých let v Bostonu, kde působila řadu let jakožto pouliční performerka. Michaelovi se po několika desítkách let podařilo díky vydaným vinylům Major Tom/Radar Love a The Space Lady’s Greatest Hits znovuodstartovat její hudební kariéru. Kasparis sám působí hned v několika punkových kapelách a momentálně objíždí evropská velkoměsta se svým sólovým projektem Apostille. Ekcentrickou show na pomezí punku a synth popu si můžete přijít poslechnout v neděli 5.dubna v pražském klubu Kokpit. Mix, který si pro nás Kasparis připravil, je z větší části poskládaný z exkluzivních a doposud nevydaných věcí, jež se v blízké budoucnosti objeví na labelu Night School či skladby z jeho sólového projektu Apostille. We'd never try and second guess R&S's mind-bogglingly diverse A&Ring - but there's been a thread of crisp, clever bass music since the late 2000s that means the appearance of  grime historian , Scouser-in-London and  Boxed mainstay  Paul Lynch aka Slackk makes absolute sense.

Backwards Light EP, his  new six-tracker  for them, touches, as ever, on bleak grime and Orientalist motifs, but it also brings his film soundtrack styling to the for as on this downright stirring bit of sinister drama. When will we see Lynch score an actual movie, though?
