Founded in 1997, Appalachian Voices is driven by a passion for Appalachia’s communities, landscapes and future. We have a longstanding record of decreasing our region’s dependence on coal and moving Appalachia and the Southeast toward a clean energy economy. Engaging our nationwide grassroots base of more than 60,000, we utilize innovative communications and outreach tools to convey regional issues to a national audience, hold elected leaders and agency officials accountable, and educate key decision-makers about the economic and political importance of our region in meeting America’s energy challenges.
