‘ZONE’ is Apparel Music’s brand new catalogue. Zone -to be pronounced as ‘zone’ not ‘zəʊn’- is about promoting specific Italian local music scenes, supporting local artists and putting the spotlight on distinct areas/cities in Italy. Being recognised worldwide as an international record label doesn’t come without respect and devotion to our roots, and that’s the meaning of this new catalogue. The first issue is about Milan -the city where Apparel Music was born and is now based- and Kisk (featuring Oneboy) does the honours, with a very peculiar version of the most popular Milanese song ‘Oh Mia Bela Madunina’, out on all digital platforms in December 2022.

J. Peacock is back for his Summer take over! Good times and Happiness all over this cool funky release with three new jams and an excellent Laurence Guy remix as the cherry on the cake!

The opener “Found Her” is another loopy dance floor burner a la Peacock, a tune ready for the main room. An old northern soul sample, surrounded by some classic house percussion that eventually cuts into a driving jupiter-8 bassline. J. Peacock sees this one as a sequel to his previous release ‘Can’t Find Her’.

Next is the RnB friendly deep house cut “Hold On Till Dawn”, perfect for your sunrise set! The percussion in this tune is heavily inspired by UK garage, blending that sound with house always works so well. Lush and deep emotional pads and keys on an eased out beat foundation, how much more summer can you pack in a tune?

A perfect “b-side” roller that pumps on any sound system is “No Tears Now”. Inspired by the sounds of Daphni, those analogue synth stabs and breaks really balance out this EP. And those disco string samples really carry this one through, that Peacock style again!

To top things off J. Peacock asked his good pal Laurence Guy to grace us with a class remix like only he can. Speeding up the pace and transforming the original into a true gem of a track. A deep rolling groove that works its way towards an irresistible ending, it could go on forever as far as we are concerned! Pretty sure you will hear this one a lot this holiday season together with the dope originals.

DJOON translates as Soul and is a family run Club in Paris that is already celebrating its 20th anniversary. The first few years I worked with them i thought Adrien and Afshin were brothers until I realized they were father and son. DJOON has always been a lighthouse in clubland staying true to its name and roots, the soul. It certainly was one of the highpoints of my career to be invited to play in 2013 and subsequently we hosted many a label night there. Playing the boatparty for the DJOON experience in Favignana led via via to signing one of our biggest hits, Karizma's Work It Out. Adrien and Afshin always have been great supporters of Lumberjacks in Hell and what we do. So it's with great honour and pleasure to return the invitation today and have ADRI on the the podcast.

A DJ whose taste stretches the realms of Nu Beat, Afro, Cosmic, Disco, House and funky Techno; we are delighted to welcome Jaime Fiorito for our next Phonica Friends and Family mix. Having been exposed to such a large vast knowledge of music through his father, the legendary Balearic don DJ Alfredo, Jaime from a young age was born to follow in his footsteps. His style of DJing which currently touches off  leftfield house & techno, disco, African rhythms and seductive balearic have seen him touchdown at hot spots all over Ibiza, South America and Berlin's Panorama Bar.

We met Eluize by chance in Berlin when she was playing at IPSE with us a while ago now. We loved what she did in the booth that day and have been in touch ever since. She's got lots on the go so we thought we'd get her back for another mix for the SB series.

"For this mix I wanted to bring together joyful, sparkling tunes mixed with moments of acid and off kilter kicks. Lots of things I love right now, from all across the genre spectrum, expect prog house and melodic techno with touches of disco, electro and breaks. 

I’ve got a super fun next few months touring AUS, celebrating my new release Lucidity on Motorik! Out Sep 20. Then heading to Europe for ADE oct 18, and Berlin Oct 20, for some exciting shows to be announced soon.
